World Cancer Day 2022
Every year on February 4 people across the world observe World Cancer Day in order to create awareness, inspire change and reduce the global impact of cancer. The aim is to reduce misconceptions surrounding cancer and the prejudices associated with it, to help people in getting the right information about it. It also offers a chance to make an impact in the betterment of the life of cancer patients and survivors. The Union of International Cancer Control (UICC) has declared World Cancer Day to be a "global uniting initiative".
History
The day came into existence on February 4, 2000, during the world cancer conference for the New Millennium in Paris, France. Every year since then, people across the world observe World Cancer Day with a different theme to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and to continue spread awareness on cancer, its prevention, and treatment.
World Cancer Day 2022: Theme
The theme of World Cancer Day 2022 is 'Close the Care Gap'. It is all about understanding and recognising the inequities in cancer care around the globe. The theme revolves around identifying and recognising global disparities in cancer care, that prevent people from certain economic strata from full access to essential healthcare services and facilities. Inequity in cancer care costs lives.

Happy Republic Day 2022

We are celebrating our 73rd Republic Day in 2022.

While India gained independence from the British Raj in 1947, it wasn't until January 26, 1950, that the Indian Constitution came into effect, and India became a sovereign state, declaring it a republic.

Dr BR Ambedkar headed the Drafting Committee of the Constitution. Additionally, Constitution Day is celebrated in India on November 26 every year, as on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India.

Republic Day is celebrated with much pomp all across the country. The main attraction of Republic Day celebrations is the annual parade which begins at Rajpath, Delhi, and ends at the India Gate. On this day, the country's President hoists the flag at Rajpath, New Delhi. The ceremonious event also showcases India's cultural and social heritage, parades and airshows by the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

Additionally, the President of India distributes Padma Awards to the deserving civilians of the country to honour their contribution to the nation. Brave soldiers are also awarded Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra and Vir Chakra. Live webcast of the Republic Day Parade is also made accessible every year to millions of people who wish to view the parade over the Internet or TV.

The National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India every year on January 24. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India initiated this celebration in 2008.
The day is celebrated by organizing various programmes including awareness campaigns on Save the girl child, child s*x ratios, and creating a healthy and safe environment for a girl child.

Objectives
The objective of celebrating National Girl Child Day is as follows.

Highlight the inequalities faced by girls in the country
Promote awareness about the rights of a girl child
Generate awareness on the importance of girl education, health and nutrition

*Army Day* is celebrated on *15 January every year* in India, in recognition of *Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's* (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the *first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army* from General Fransis Bucher , the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.
The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi as well as in all headquarters.

On 15 January 2022, India is celebrating its *74th Indian Army Day* in New Delhi.

Army Day marks a day to *salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens*.

National Youth Day, also known as Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated on 12 January, being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.Youth Day is celebrated on January 12, every year in India to
honor the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India's greatest leaders and believers of youth power. was an ardent disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa and a major force in the revival of Hinduism in India. Celebrated as one of the greatest social leaders of the country, Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata.

He pushed for national integration in colonial India, and his famous speech remains as the one that he gave in Chicago in 1893. Yuva Diwas is also celebrated to encourage the youth in the country to become a better person and achieve an honorable life contributing to the development of the country.

World Hindi Day
(Vishwa Hindi Diwas)
January 10

Every year on January 10, World Hindi Day or Vishwa Hindi Divas is observed aiming to promote the use of Hindi language worldwide.

World Hindi Day is celebrated at all government offices and Indian Embassies.
It all dates back to January 10, 1975. On that day, the first World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Later, in 2006, the then Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, declared January 10 as World Hindi Day.

Apart from promoting Hindi on international platforms, World Hindi Day also aims at presenting Hindi as an international language.
It is worth mentioning that World Hindi Day or Vishwa Hindi Divas is not the same as National Hindi Divas. India celebrates National Hindi Divas on September 14.
