We invite designers around the world, belonging to various factions, to create inventive, experimental architectural solutions which would surprise todayโ€™s iconic skyscraper structure that has the impact of establishing itself as a landmark in its surroundings.

It is important that the program is chosen for the building that adds value to the existing site condition, which can then be justified by the participants based on infrastructure, socioeconomics, and overall social development, improving human comfort.

Many of the most famous architecture studios in the world are designing supertall skyscrapers, including BIG, Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, and Dorte Mandrup.

A supertall skyscraper is a building that rises over 300 metres tall, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

Over 170 supertall skyscrapers have been built worldwide since 1930, with the number rapidly increasing in recent years. A record 26 buildings over 300 metres were completed in 2019.

The architects behind many of these supertall skyscrapers are specialized in engineering-heavy buildings, including Kohn Pedersen Fox, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, and Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill. However, increasingly, studios better known for cultural projects are getting in on the act.

Some of the biggest names in architecture designed the 8 tallest skyscrapers in the world, which will be completed in the next several years.

Case Study - 2
Across the skyline, One World Trade Center represents the void left by the fall of the towers.

One World Trade Center, as it rises upward in a faceted form, speaks about the future and hope while the adjacent World Trade Center Memorial speaks of the past and remembrance.

Viewed from different angles, One World Trade Center appears to shape-shift from a solid resembling the original towers to an obelisk reminiscent of the Washington Monument, depending on the angle of light.
