Role of parents in their child's development:-

The very essential role of parents is to provide encouragement, support and access to activities that enable the child to master key developmental tasks.

Parents play an important role in 5 dimensional development.:-

1.Cognitive development - By cognitive development we mean the development of knowledge, skills, problem solving and behaviour, which help children to think about and understand the world around them. Brain development is part of cognitive development. When children are growing up, effective parenting improves their cognitive, social and problem-solving skills. Positive parenting also improves their responses and helps them to grow up as better humans. Healthy interaction and stimulating play a key role in early stages of child's life.

2. Socio-economic development :- Children observe spousal interaction and how arguments are settled in the family. It teaches them a variety of good values that are imbibed and crucial to growing up. The child learns how to behave with others, playing to a common goal, team spirit, picking the right friends and lot more.

3. Physical development :- Children observe their parents how they take care of their physical health. The right guidance from parents can inculcate in children a good regime of exercise and healthy diet to achieve ideal physical development.

4. Mental development :- Parenting styles help the child learn innovatively, accepting failures and overcoming them, understanding discipline, accepting feedback and the award and punishment concept.

5. Spiritual development :- Understanding the religious values, knowing right and wrong, respect for elders, bei ng emphatic and strengthening goal setting liberates the free spirit in children.

STUDY PLAN AND SCHEDULE DURING LOCKDOWN PERIOD
FOR 11th to 12th MOVING STUDENTS TARGETING JEE/NEET 2021
Dear students,
Every citizen of INDIA is facing adversity due to the spread of pandemic COVID 19 and resulting lockdown. Life has become constant, no variables. But every coin has two sides and each side can be positive or negative according to one's perception. As far as students are concerned, this lockdown period provides lot of time (never before) for studies as well as self development. Following a perfect schedule one can achieve a lot and this difference will reflect later. I intent to highlight few points which I feel could make a difference :-

# STUDIES:
Consider this time as an opportunity for developing the habit of self study. Devote 9 to 10 hours each day for studies , with break. Divide the time in three slots for PCM(B).

1. Thoroughly read the topic from NCERT textbook and any other good reference book as reading the same topic from multiple sources enhances understanding and develops reasoning abilities. It plays a great role when multiple concepts need to be handled during problem solving. Highlight important concepts/formulae/definitions and prepare your own notes which you will need when quick revision of the topic is to be done.

2. Solve all the problems given in exercises of NCERT textbook, NCERT exampler and the reference book you are following and also maintain a solution notebook.

# LIGHT EXERCISES/ MEDITATION:
Take out 60 minutes time for light exercises, stretching and meditation thus preparing your body to release hormones called endorphins responsible for energizing your body and make you feel good.

# A LESSON FOR LIFE:
While this situation has bound us to our homes during the lockdown period, it also has given us some great learnings for life. It has given us a break from the non-stop race of everyday and granted us time to connect with ourselves deeper within, to realise our true potential.
This period has taught us-

1. That we can exercise self- restraint when it is the need of the hour.

2. That we can live well without most of the superficial materialistic things.
We need to carry these learnings throughout our life so that nothing ever becomes an obstacle in our path ahead.

STAY SAFE/ STAY AT HOME
THIS TOO SHALL PASS

Week 1 - 3
Week 2 - 24
Week 3 - 105

Next two weeks are crucial for India.
If we take adequate precaution and break the chain then we can tide the else we have a big problem in hand especially for the elderly population
So far so good. India has done well so far in its fight to contain Corona Virus. Now we are in stage 3 in which Virus spreads through social contacts & in social gatherings. This is most critical stage & number of confirmed cases spread exponentially everyday like what happened in Italy between last week of February & second week of March. From 300 to 10,000. If India is not able to manage this stage for next 3 to 4 weeks then we could have confirmed cases not in Thousands but in Lakhs. This next one month is crucial. That is why most events & public gatherings have been closed till 15th April.

Just because schools are closed avoid getting that compulsive travel & Holiday bug. Holidays will come next year too why try your luck with Corona specially with children. Marriage functions, Birthday parties etc can wait. Don’t try your luck & that bravado that nothing will happen to me. Next 30 days will be most crucial in medical History of India. Take all precautions while at home & while outside for any important work. Precaution is not panic.

Be a responsible citizen by following & educating others to remain careful for next one month.

DEAR STUDENTS,
IT IS YOUR TRUE GRIT THAT WILL WORK TO IMPROVE YOUR PERCENTILE IN JEE MAIN 2020 APRIL ATTEMPT.

In my previous posts, I had discussed the strategies to score good percentile in JEE MAIN 2020.

Dreaming big is the right of every individual. Achieving the dream takes more than dreaming. It is a two - step action that involves:

1. Having true grit:-
Grit(determination/will power/craving for success) is the first important thing that is required to achieve the desired result. Grit makes a person more positive, more steadfast towards the desired goal resulting in his increased leval of dedication for right action which makes him capable of clearing all obstacles which come on the path leading to success.

2. Following a right process:-
By the right process we mean processes designed by experts and tested on students for many years with refinement to achieve set goals. Students learning from experts and using their intellect with true grit achieve the desired result.

WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2020

28/12/2019

Focus on physical and mental well-being in remaining 7 days to crack JEE MAIN 2020 JANUARY ATTEMPT:-

DEAR STUDENTS,
You have been putting a lot of effort and hard work for the past 2-3 years to perform well in JEE MAIN 2020. You completed the syllabus, appeared in periodic tests, improved your weak areas by adopting constant revision and problem solving methodology, solved previous year papers and appeared in mock tests. These all are the basic requisites to perform well in any competitive examination.
Now, since the JEE MAIN is just around the corner, it not just equally but even more important to retain the concepts/formulae/facts/results/tricks etc. which students had learnt during the course of their preparation. Retention is directly related to one's mind condition. Therefore it is very important to keep the mind cool, calm ,composed and full of positivity. Students are advised to take into account the following points:-

Sound sleep

Quality sleep of 7 hours is required to keep our mind fresh, light and organised in thoughts. I suggest to take sleep at night. Avoid sleeping in day time and adjust your biological clock in such a manner that your brain is most active during 9 AM to 12 noon or 2 PM to 5 PM in accordance with your JEE MAIN time slot.

Food

Take food that keeps you energized all the time. It is very important not to indulge yourself in junk food. Beware, that at this time if you are facing stress you would have high cravings for junk food that would satiate you for sometime but would make you most stressed and lethargic in the long run thereby reducing your concentration and productivity.

I suggest you take proper meals at regular intervals.

Water

Our brain is about 75% water. When our brain is functioning on a full reserve of water, we are able to think faster, be more focused, and experience greater clarity and creativity.
Water is also essential for delivering nutrients to the brain and for removing toxins. When the brain is fully hydrated, the exchange of nutrients and toxins will be more efficient—thus ensuring better concentration and mental alertness.

I suggest you drink 10 to 12 glasses of water daily.

Meditation
Studies have shown shown that students who meditate or have designated quiet time have better academic performance. Improved Mental Health. The combination of greater physical health, more confidence and increased empathy that students get from engaging in Zen practices can lead to better overall mental health.

I suggest you to meditate for 10 to 15 minutes daily.

All the best
