We were delighted to host Dr. Degu Zewdu at the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, for an insightful guest lecture on:

🎓 Deeksharambh 2026 | Student Induction Programme

On 23 July 2026, the Amrita School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Campus, warmly welcomed its newest batch of students through Deeksharambh 2026, marking the beginning of an enriching academic journey.

The programme was graced by the divine presence and blessings of Sampoojya Swami Tapasyamritananda Puri Ji, whose inspiring address set the tone for a journey rooted in knowledge, compassion, and selfless service.

Students from the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), B.Sc. Psychology, and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology (PGDCP) programmes were formally inducted into the Amrita family.

Guided by the vision of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Amrita continues to foster holistic education that combines academic excellence with values, research, community engagement, and social responsibility.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, marked a distinguished milestone with its 30th Convocation ceremony.

🎓 Congratulations to Dr. Radhika Mohan on Successfully Completing her PhD!

The School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, proudly congratulates Dr. Radhika Mohan on the successful completion of her PhD Open Defense held on 16 July 2026.

Thesis Title:
Women’s Resilience in Keralam: A Qualitative Exploration and Pilot Development of a Context-Specific Resilience Scale

Her doctoral research makes a valuable contribution to understanding women's resilience within the socio-cultural context of Kerala and advances the development of a context-specific resilience scale through rigorous qualitative inquiry.

💙 ManoLayam Chit Chat Series | Gender Harmony, Respect & Sensitivity 💙
The ManoLayam – Rhythm of the Mind Centre for Wellbeing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore successfully conducted an interactive Chit Chat Series on "Gender Harmony, Respect, and Sensitivity" for the students of the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SSBS).
The session provided a safe and engaging platform for students to share perspectives, reflect on the importance of empathy, mutual respect, and inclusion, and participate in meaningful conversations that promote healthy relationships and a positive campus culture.
