We are delighted to congratulate Dr. Sreekanth M. M. on the successful completion of his Doctoral Studies.

His Ph.D. thesis,

"Advanced Design, Optimization, Modeling, and Deployment of High-Sensitivity Force/Torque Sensors for AI-Embedded Physical Interaction Systems,"

represents a significant contribution to the fields of AI-enabled sensing, intelligent robotics, physical human-machine interaction, and advanced sensor technologies. The research advances the design and deployment of high-sensitivity force/torque sensing systems, paving the way for more precise, adaptive, and intelligent physical interaction in next-generation robotic applications.

"Thrivaad: A Multilingual, Predictive Eye-Tracking AAC System Powered by Optimized Deep Learning,"

This research presents Thrivaad, an intelligent Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system that leverages optimized deep learning and predictive eye-tracking to enable faster, more accurate, and multilingual communication for individuals with speech and motor impairments. Honored to Welcome Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik at HuT Labs! ๐Ÿค–

The Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was privileged to welcome Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, during his visit to the Amritapuri Campus on 2nd July 2026.

During the visit, the Minister was presented with live demonstrations of the innovative robotic systems and indigenous technologies developed at HuT Labs. The demonstrations were led by Dr. Sakthiprasad K. M., along with the dedicated HuT Labs research team, who showcased a wide range of robotics and automation projects developed to address real-world humanitarian and industrial challenges.

The demonstrations included our advanced robotic platforms, autonomous systems, bio-inspired robots, agricultural robots, search and rescue technologies, and other cutting-edge innovations that reflect HuT Labs' commitment to impactful research and technological excellence.

Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik appreciated the efforts of the team and shared inspiring words of encouragement, recognizing the importance of indigenous innovation, research, and technology-driven solutions for nation-building. We are delighted to share that our research paper,

"Deep Learning Based Dirt Detection and Cleanliness Evaluation in Autonomous Indian Domestic Concrete Water Tank Cleaning Robot"

has been published in Field Robotics (Wiley), a prestigious Q1 journal with an Impact Factor of 5.2 and a Scopus Percentile of 87.

This research presents an intelligent deep learning-based approach for automated dirt detection and cleanliness evaluation in an autonomous robotic system for cleaning Indian domestic concrete water tanks. By integrating artificial intelligence with robotics, the proposed system enables objective cleanliness assessment, enhances cleaning efficiency, and contributes to safer and more hygienic water storage solutions.

The Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has achieved another significant milestone in advancing indigenous robotics technology.

Our research team has successfully designed, developed, and validated an indigenous motion controller for 6-DOF robotic manipulators, providing a cost-effective alternative to expensive imported proprietary controllers used in advanced robotic systems.
