The SMART Center is directed by Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, who is the Director of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Head of the Amrita Coconut Research and Development (ACORD), and Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

A State-of-the-Art Center for Sustainable Mobility and Automotive Research Technology was inaugurated on September 8, 2023.

A significant step towards sustainable mobility and automotive research technology has been achieved with the inauguration of the new Sustainable Mobility and Automotive Research Technology (SMART) Center. The state-of-the-art research center launched on September 8, 2023 will focus on developing autonomous and advanced systems with advanced and decision-making .

The inauguration event was graced by Dr. Shankar Venugopal, VP, Mahindra & Mahindra, and included expert talks on autonomous parking systems and innovation through simulation. The SMART Center is a significant development for our Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs and will carry out research projects in the areas of autonomous and connected vehicles, electrification, and and systems.

The Center is headed by Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
