Fatima Mata National College Celebrates World Cup Football 2026
The Department of Physical Education launched "World Cup Hungama," transforming the campus into a vibrant football festival. Students enthusiastically participated in the celebrations by wearing their favourite team jerseys and taking part in activities such as a World Cup history exhibition, national flag display, prediction contest, department-wise jersey competition, and World Cup quiz.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Ananthalal A., Assistant Commissioner, Crime Bureau, Kollam, in the presence of Fr. Joseph John (College Manager), Shri Panmana Manjush (Secretary, Kollam Football Association), and Dr. Manohar Mullassery (Principal).
Beyond celebrating football, the programme also promotes an active lifestyle by encouraging students to spend more time on the field and less time on mobile phones. The program also served as a campaign to raise awareness against drug abuse🌍🏆

As part of World Blood Donor Day, the NSS Unit of Fatima Mata National College actively participated in a blood donation drive organized in collaboration with Joy Alukkas on 12 June 2026. In recognition of its active participation and contribution to the campaign, the FMNC NSS Unit received an Appreciation Award from the Joy Alukkas Group.

Prof. Mammen Daniel, MD, Dr. Daniel's Laboratories, Vadodara, Gujarat, and an alumnus of the Department of Botany, Fatima Mata National College, delivered a talk on “The Role of Botanists in the Identification and Conservation of Medicinal Plants for the Production of High-Quality Medicines.” The programme was organized by the Research and Postgraduate Department of Botany as part of its “Meet the Talent” lecture series.

As part of the World Environment Day 2026 celebrations at Don Bosco College, Kottiyam, Dr. Reshma Benson of the Research and Postgraduate Department of Botany presented EcoNova, a waste bin developed by the startup BioMercatus.
