MoU Signing Ceremony & Industry–Academia Interaction Programme at TKM College of Arts & Science
The Post Graduate and Research Department of Biochemistry, TKM College of Arts and Science, Karicode, Kollam, hosted a landmark MoU Signing Ceremony and Industry–Academia Interaction Programme in collaboration with Geospatial Campus, Kakkanad, Kochi, on 17 August 2026 at the College Seminar Hall.
The initiative, led by Dr. Ajinza A., Head of the Department, aims to strengthen industry–academia collaboration, foster research partnerships, and create opportunities for skill development, training, and internships. The MoU was formally signed between Dr. Ajinza A. and Mr. Ajith Chandran, Managing Director, Geospatial Campus, marking a new chapter in interdisciplinary learning and professional exposure for students.
The programme began with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. Ajinza A., followed by the Presidential Address from Principal Dr. M.J. Sheeba, who emphasized the importance of institutional collaborations in enhancing academic quality, employability, and research excellence. Mr. Ajith Chandran introduced Geospatial Campus, highlighting its expertise and potential avenues for collaboration.
The highlight of the event was the formal signing of the MoU, followed by an expert lecture by Dr. Jessen George, Head Academics, Geospatial Campus and Research Director, ICWM, Kochi. His session provided valuable insights into geospatial technologies, machine learning, and interdisciplinary research methodologies.
Key outcomes include enhanced industry–academia linkages, opportunities for student training and internships, scope for joint research, and exposure to emerging technologies. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Hari Sankar H. S., Assistant Professor, Biochemistry.
This collaboration promises to empower students and faculty to explore innovative research across biochemistry, environmental science, geospatial technology, and water management.
