The Living Canvas 🌿🎨
What if a journey through the mountains could become more than a trek?
The Living Canvas is a five-day, four-night art and nature experience through the Black Forest Trail, created by Musaafiran × Art East Academy. It is an invitation to slow down, observe deeply, and create directly from the landscape.
From Rimbik to Upper Sepi, through Gurdum and Timburey, the trail becomes our studio and the mountains become our classroom. Along the way, we’ll explore plein-air watercolour, nature observation, botanical printing, texture rubbing, photography, sketching and field journaling. But this isn’t simply about making art in a beautiful place.
It is about learning to see.
The changing light on a mountain.
The blue-grey of distant hills.
The texture of moss on an old rock.
The pattern hidden in a fallen leaf.
The sound of a stream.
The silence between two trails.
Every day brings a new way of looking, and every observation becomes part of your Personal Field Journal, a growing archive of sketches, colour studies, prints, photographs, notes and reflections. The Living Canvas 2026 - Detailed Itinerary.pdf

Leave the noise behind. Follow the trail into the green. Pause where the trees have stories to tell. And create what you feel. 🌲
