“Our brain and body talk to each other constantly”—this was the message shared by Shrestha Das of XII C during the Morning Assembly on 24 August 2026. She spoke about the deep connection between the mind and body and emphasised the importance of healthy eating habits, regular exercise and avoiding screen time at night. She also reminded her peers that when stress feels overwhelming, it is important to reach out and talk to someone.

The timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita resonated in the School Auditorium during the Morning Assembly on 24th August 2026. Eleena Ray of XII B shared her Thought for the Day, drawing inspiration from the verses of the Gita. She reminded the students that while one cannot control the outcome, one can always perform one’s duties with sincerity, dedication and perseverance. She emphasised that success should be embraced with humility, while failure should be viewed as an opportunity to learn, grow and improve.
May these profound words from the Gita guide and inspire the students throughout their journey of life.

The Morning Assembly on 24 August 2026 commenced with the School Prayer led by Shaurya Rathi of XII C. Uttaran Saha of XII D presented the news headlines, followed by Eleena Ray, who shared a profound thought for the day, drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita.
Shrestha Das of XII C spoke about the close relationship between the mind and body, emphasising the importance of maintaining a healthy routine. Srinjoy Mukherjee of XII D shared his thoughts on his favourite book, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Keeping true to her interests, Anushka Sen of XII B spoke with admiration about her idol, Shri N. R. Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys.
The Assembly concluded with the National Anthem, led by Ranjini Das of XII D and Aditya Singh of XII B.

A workshop was conducted by Katha Sengupta of XIIF and Hiyastab Pradhan of XIIG for the members of Astronomy Club on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Using a YouTube video they explained in detail the mechanism of Hubble Space Telescope launched on April 24, 1990 and Edwin Hubble's concept of redshift. In the second segment of the workshop, they unveiled the model of a telescope which Katha and Hiyastab had created along with Saptarshi Banerjee of XIIF and Zakiyyah Yasmin of XIIG. They demonstrated how the James Webb Space Telescope after which they had modelled their telescope, functioned and how it was more advanced than the Hubble. The curious young audience had many questions which our in-house resource persons patiently answered.

It was a day of glee and glory for the School at The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence in Education, held at EZCC on Saturday, August 22, 2026. SPHS received Certificates of Honour for Excellence in Extra Curricular Activities and Social Service. The Certificate of Merit was awarded to the School for Excellence in Academics (CBSE). Sanskar Chandra of XIIC received the Certificate of Honour for Excellence in Sports (Rowing). Chandrachur Mukherjee of XIID was the awardee of the Certificate of Honour for Outstanding Talent in Film and Music whereas Namrata Banerjee of XG (A) was the recipient of the Certificate of Honour for Outstanding Talent in Music. Congratulations to all the awardees and all the students whose talent and perseverance to outrun themselves in academic and co-curricular pursuits have made this possible.

The morning assembly on 21st August 2026 conducted by Class XI Science students commenced with the School Prayer led by Manideepa Ray (XI F), followed by News Reading by Snehan Chakraborty (XI G). Nishant Agarwal (XI E) shared the Thought for the Day, setting a reflective tone for the morning. Florentyna Adhikari (XI F) then delivered an inspiring presentation on the importance of Mental and Physical Health.
The assembly continued with Menaha Jana (XI G) presenting an engaging Book Talk on William Shakespeare’s _The Winter’s Tale_ , followed by Md Zain (XI E) sharing his views on his Idol, Alakh Pandey.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem sung by Aahir Reza Samadrita Mukherjee & Debarya Bagchi of Class XI Science.
