In October, Durgaprasad Mahapatra Chess Academy was born with a dream, a vision, and an unshakable belief in creating champions.
And from that very moment, the journey turned into something extraordinary.
In December 2025, Aharshi announced the arrival of the academy on the biggest stage by becoming State Under 19 Champion with a commanding performance, while Reyan Jagnanni added more glory by securing 3rd place in the same championship.
Then came the fearless rise of Spandan Debnath, whose electrifying performances in open tournaments stunned everyone as he repeatedly defeated higher rated players with incredible confidence and fighting spirit.
And then arrived the unforgettable domination of 2026.
Aryahi became State Under 11 Champion with a sensational performance.
Aharnish Nanda fought brilliantly till the very end and finished State Under 11 Runner Up, missing the title by the narrowest margin.
Enodaya and Rajanya created history by becoming State Under 15 Boys and Girls Champions and brought immense pride to the academy.
Aniket Das added another glorious achievement by securing 3rd place in the highly competitive DDDBCA Above 1600 Tournament.
Across nearly every district chess tournament in 2026, players of Durgaprasad Mahapatra Chess Academy dominated the field with fearless chess, champion mentality, and unstoppable determination.
From district tournaments to state championships, one name kept echoing louder and louder:
Durgaprasad Mahapatra Chess Academy.
This is not just an academy.
This is a revolution.
A rising force in Indian chess.
And this is only the beginning.

Enoday Mitra started the championship quietly and steadily, but when the moment demanded, you shifted into top gear and surged past everyone with the heart of a true champion.
Your unforgettable last game showed the spirit of a real fighter. While many would have accepted the draw and settled, you boldly refused the draw offer and played fearlessly for the championship. That courage, confidence, and fighting attitude made your victory truly special and memorable.
Champions are not made only by winning titles, but by showing courage in the biggest moments and you proved exactly that.
This glorious achievement became even more memorable as you received the prize from legendary Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua, one of the greatest inspirations of Indian chess. GM Barua has inspired generations of players with his fighting spirit, dedication, and contribution to Indian chess, and receiving the trophy from such a respected legend is truly an honour in itself.
The entire family of Durgaprasad Mahapatra Academy congratulates you on this magnificent achievement and feels immensely proud of your fighting spirit and success.
