Official Statement Regarding Social Media Posts and Comments
It has come to our attention that certain social media posts, comments, and screenshots of a private conversation involving a former student have been circulated publicly with remarks questioning the values and education of the institution.
We would like to state our position clearly and firmly. The language used in the private conversation is inappropriate, offensive, and unacceptable. We do not justify such behaviour in any form. Every individual is responsible for their own words, actions and conduct, and we expect our students and former students to maintain basic standards of dignity and respectful communication.
However, it is equally inappropriate to take an individual's private conversation and use it to make sweeping statements about the school, its teachers or the students associated with it.
A person's personal behaviour cannot be presented as a reflection of an entire educational institution.
The school provides education, values, discipline, guidance, it cannot be held responsible for every personal decision and private interaction of an individual outside the institution.
Therefore, statements such as “Do you create students like this?” are not only unfair but also unnecessarily disrespectful towards the institution and the many teachers and students who have been part of it.
If two individuals have a personal dispute it should be dealt with by the concerned individuals. Turning a private disagreement into a public matter and unnecessarily involving the school's name is neither appropriate nor responsible.
We strongly condemn abusive and offensive language. At the same time, we strongly object to attempts to generalise an individual's conduct and associate it with the character or values of the entire school.
We request everyone to exercise responsibility, restraint, and basic social etiquette before making or sharing comments about an educational institution on social media.
