Indian Museum, Kolkata, in collaboration with Sister Nivedita University, presents a special programme on Viksit Bharat 2047 in remembrance of Partition Day, commemorating our shared history and heritage.

The programme will include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indian Museum and Sister Nivedita University for the promotion of Heritage and Museum Studies, strengthening academic and cultural collaboration.

Grand inauguration of the 5th Annual Exhibition by the students of the Department of Fine Arts and Design took place at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, on 09 August 2026.

The event was graced by Sri K S Radhakrishnan (eminent artist and curator), Mr. Maxim Kozlov (Honourable Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata), (Dr) Natalia Gerasimova (eminent historian), Prof (Dr) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay (Honourable Pro-Chancellor, TIG Universities) and Prof (Dr) Buroshiva Dasgupta (Advisor, School of Arts, Media & Design).

The exhibition -- showcasing the works of our Students of BFA, BDes and MFA – shall remain open in the North, West, Central and New South Galleries of AFA till 14 August 2026, 12:00 noon to 08:00 PM daily.

From Classrooms to Streets – An Immersive Field Survey in Hospitality

Our students from Dept. of Hospitality & Tourism - Sister Nivedita University recently stepped out of the conventional academic environment to engage in a comprehensive field survey across various local markets and street vendor hubs. Engaging directly with street vendors and smallscale entrepreneurs provided students with unfiltered insights into the hospitality and retail sector
This initiative was designed to offer students a groundlevel understanding of the hospitality and retail ecosystem — an experience that textbooks alone could never fully impart.
The exercise was not merely observational — it was analytical, interactive, and deeply immersive.
