The SIH Internal Hackathon 2026 was organized in our institution on 10 September 2026 to achieve its objective of encouraging innovation and technical creativity among students. The event aimed to identify talented student teams capable of developing innovative and practical solutions to real-world challenges.
The hackathon provided a platform for students from different departments to showcase their ideas and work towards solving real-world challenges and also apply their technical knowledge, and demonstrate creativity in solving problem statements aligned with industry and societal needs.

B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology celebrated Viswakarma Puja on September 18 with great fervor and enthusiasm. The campus was adorned with beautiful decorations, creating a festive atmosphere for the occasion. A traditional puja was held to honor Lord Viswakarma, the divine architect and creator. Following the rituals, food packets were distributed to all students, faculty, and staff, fostering a sense of community and shared celebration.

A lecture session on “Energy and Sustainability” and “Innovation to Commercialization of Technology” was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, BPPIMT, in association with the IEEE IAS Kolkata Chapter, on 8th September, 2026 at the Seminar Hall. The distinguished speaker was Dr. Avik Bhattacharya, Associate Professor, IIT Roorkee. The session provided valuable insights into sustainable energy, emerging technologies, innovation, and technology commercialization. The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sutapa Mukherjee, Principal; Prof. (Dr.) Jyotsna Kumar Mondal, Dean Academics; and Prof. Sujit Biswas, Executive Member, IEEE Kolkata IAS Chapter. Dr. Nandita Sanyal, HoD, provided guidance and support, while Prof. Sumana Chowdhuri served as the Session Chair. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Madhumita Kundu Mondal, Coordinator.
