CESSI SPACE WEATHER BULLETIN | 03 FEBRUARY 2025
// SUMMARY: MODERATE WEATHER CONDITIONS//
The active region complex consisting of AR 13976, 13977, 13978, 13981 and 13982 remains in a flare-productive state. This complex is now near the central meridian of the solar disk.
Our analysis indicates the possibility of M/X-class flares in the coming days, which could induce ionospheric perturbations. A small eruption was observed near the disk center on 2 February at around 22:00 UT, launching a CME towards Earth.
According to our analysis, this CME could cause minor geomagnetic perturbations on 6 February. Few filaments (sheared magnetic field structures in the lower solar atmosphere) are also observed on the visible solar disk. There is a minor chance of filament eruption induced CMEs.
The large coronal hole is rotating away from the Sun-Earth line, bringing the near-Earth solar wind speed back to quiet levels. Current near Earth space environment is nominal.

//CESSI SPACE WEATHER ASSESSMENT FOR SPADEX MISSION//VALID 48 HOURS//
ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation
Current space weather conditions are nominal.
Observations at Lagrange Point L1 from diverse spacecrafts show the solar wind speed upstream of Earth clocking around 400 km/s with a density of less than 10 particles/cc and a magnetic field component that is not conducive to the generation of geomagnetic storms. There are no large coronal holes observed on the Sun that may give rise to high speed solar wind streams over the next 2-3 days.
While there are multiple magnetic active regions present on the Sun, our analysis indicates no active region near the Sun's disk center are currently complex enough to produce strong M/X class flares. Only one active region (AR 13947) has a low to moderate chance of flaring activity but this region is located around 60 degrees west of disk center and rotating away from the Sun-Earth line. While we do not anticipate significant enhancements in high energy radiation or solar energetic particle fluxes over the next few days, communications may be momentarily impacted in case AR13947 produces a strong flare. Therefore a watch may be kept on this particular active region during scheduled docking of SpaDeX A and B.
There are a few large scale twisted magnetic structures on the solar disk known as filaments and which are observed in Halpha. Out of these only one filament located on the solar southern hemisphere has a low to moderate chance of erupting and generating a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). Even if a CME eruption takes place at this time, it would take two days for its effect to be manifested near Earth.
Overall we are forecasting nominal space weather conditions and are issuing an ALL CLEAR flag for near-Earth space weather. We do not assess any potential space weather related disruptions to SpaDeX docking attempts conducted over the next two days.
Updates to our forecast will be issued if necessitated.

A two-day meeting will be held at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata to develop a planning document for the Indian deci-Hz gravitational wave space mission. The Deci-Hz GW mission is among the future space science projects proposed by the community for ISROโs long-term space science vision, by working group SG-2: Gravitation and Cosmology of the Space Science Roadmap Formulation initiated by URSC, ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation. It is also regarded as a step forward beyond LIGO-India.

CESSI SPACE WEATHER BULLETIN | 28 OCTOBER 2024
//SUMMARY: NOMINAL SPACE WEATHER CONDITIONS//
Multiple active regions have been flagged as flare productive by the CESSI ML/AI algorithm.
Our analysis indicates high to moderate chances of flare induced ionospheric perturbations over the week. Few filaments (sheared magnetic field structures in the lower solar atmosphere) are also observed on the Earth-facing solar disk.
There is a minor chance of filament eruption induced coronal mass ejections. Current near-Earth space weather conditions are nominal.
