Victoria Institution (College), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Research & Development Cell and IQAC, proudly organized the Annual Award Ceremony for AY 2025–2026 on 31st August 2026 at Suniti Sabhaghar.
The ceremony celebrated and recognized the outstanding contributions and achievements of faculty members in Research & Development, particularly in the areas of research publications and successful acquisition of research grants.

Victoria Institution (College), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Research & Development Cell, and Idea Café, successfully organized Activity 14 – Publication of the Annual R&D Newsletter on 31st August 2026 at Suniti Sabhaghar.

The programme celebrated the institution’s research, innovation, and development initiatives, providing a platform to showcase the academic and creative achievements of faculty and students. The event was graced by Dr. Maitreyi Ray Kanjilal, Principal, and Dr. Moumita Mukherjee, Professor & Dean (Research & Development), Adamas University, as the ExtThe programme celebrated the institution’s research, innovation, and development initiatives, providing a platform to showcase the academic and creative achievements of faculty and students. The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Innovation Cell, and IQAC of Victoria Institution (College) organized a school outreach programme, "Circuit Crusher: Arduino Inventing Lab," at Kalyannagar Vidyapith for Girls on 27th August 2026.The hands-on workshop fostered innovative and technical skills among school students through practical robotics sessions.

Participants successfully built four core projects:
a) LED Blinking: Learning basic programming logic.
b) Motion Sensor: Detecting movement for security automation.
c) Smart Weather Station: Monitoring real-time environmental data.
d) Smart Stick: Using ultrasonic sensors to assist the visually impaired.
The school students heavily enjoyed the interactive, hands-on training, showing immense enthusiasm while building the projects.

This initiative succeeded under our Principal's visionary leadership. We deeply thank the school's Head Mistress and teachers for their exceptional coordination. Special gratitude goes to resource persons Dr. Gayatri Pal and Dr. Subhendu Chandra (Dept. of Physics), alongside two senior physics students, for their invaluable mentorship. On 4th Aug, 2026, IIC, Innovation Cell, and IQAC have successfully organized a School Outreach Programme at Christ Church Girl's School (H. S.), Kolkata titled "Eco-Tech Innovators".

This one-day school outreach programme engaged students in hands-on STEM learning by building Arduino-assisted air quality monitors, smart weather stations, and automatic plant watering systems. Participants coded sensors, wired circuits, and analyzed real-time environmental data to solve in an innovative way local ecological challenges.

Students showed active participation throughout the hands-on workshops.

We express our sincere gratitude to our principal madam, for her visionary support and encouragement in making this initiative a success.

We are thankful to IIC president, IIC convenor, IQAC coordinator, members of the innovation cell for their unwavering support.

Special thanks to Mousumidi and Basu for their crucial role in the successful organization of the workshop. We express our gratitude to our resource persons Gayatridi and Subhenduda. Victoria Institution (College), through its Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), in collaboration with IQAC, successfully celebrated World Entrepreneurs Day on 21 August 2026 at Suniti Sabhaghar.
The programme featured an insightful lecture by Professor Sharmistha Banerjee, Department of Business Management, University of Calcutta, who motivated students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, embrace innovation and explore entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. The interactive question-and-answer session further enriched the learning experience.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The event was successfully conducted and contributed to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and creative thinking among students.

Victoria Institution (College) successfully hosted the Final Pitch Day of IDEATHON: ‘IDEA TO IMPACT 2026’, jointly organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), IPR Cell, and R&D Cell in collaboration with IQAC.
​From team registrations and rigorous internal faculty mentoring to expert pitch refinement led by external mentor Sri Shekhar Guha, our student innovators navigated a transformative journey.

On 22nd August at Suniti Sabhaghar, finalists pitched impactful, SDG-aligned solutions across four vital themes.
