Thalassemia is a group of inherited blood disorders that affect the body's ability to produce hemoglobin and red blood cells - patients have a lower-than-normal number of red blood cells in their bodies and too little hemoglobin. In many cases the red blood cells are too small.

Our red blood cells carry hemoglobin. Hemoglobin, a protein, carries the oxygen we breathe in through our lungs and transports it to the rest of the body. A spongy material inside some of our bones - bone marrow - uses iron that our body takes from food and makes hemoglobin.

The bone marrow of people with Thalassemia does not produce enough healthy hemoglobin or red blood cells, which causes anemia and fatigue, because the body is short of oxygen. In more severe Thalassemia cases, the patient's organs may be damaged, there is restricted growth, heart failure, liver damage, and even death.

People with mild thalassemia may not require any treatment at all. In more severe forms of the disease, the patient may need regular blood transfusions. Doing plenty of exercises and eating a healthy diet can help some of the symptoms of thalassemia, especially fatigue.

It is hereby notified that we are going to organize Thalassemia Test program at free of cost on 11th December 2013 at 12 A.M in our college campus and the reports will be confidential. All students are requested to take part in this program and make it a grand success.Cooperation is solicited.

১) শিক্ষা নিয়েঃ

অনুবাদঃ “শিক্ষা সবচেয়ে শক্তিশালী একটা অস্ত্র, যা তুমি বিশ্বের পরিবর্তনে ব্যবহার করতে পার।”
২) সম্ভাবনা নিয়েঃ
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
অনুবাদঃ “কোন কিছু করার আগে পর্যন্ত সব সময় অসম্ভবই মনে হয়।”
৩) লক্ষ্য নিয়েঃ
“When people are determined they can overcome anything.”
অনুবাদঃ কেউ যদি নিজের লক্ষে স্থির থাকে তবে সে অবশ্যই বিজয়ী হবেই।
৪) দায়িত্ব নিয়েঃ
“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.”
অনুবাদঃ “যখন একজন মানুষ তার দেশ ও জাতির প্রতি তার দায়িত্ব ঠিক ঠাক পালন করতে পারে, তবেই শান্তিতে মরতে পারে।”

অনুবাদঃ “একটি মেধাবী মস্তিষ্ক এবং ভালো মনের সমন্বয় সবসময়ই দুর্দান্ত।”
৬) বর্ণবাদ নিয়েঃ

অনুবাদঃ “আমরা এমন একটি সমাজের জন্য যুদ্ধ করছি যেখানে মানুষের বর্ণ নিয়ে কেউ চিন্তা করবেনা।”
৭) লক্ষ্য নিয়েঃ

অনুবাদঃ কোনো বিশাল পাহাড়ের চূড়ায় উঠার পর একজন দেখতে পায়, আরোহণের মতো আরও পাহাড় রয়েছে।
৮) দেশের প্রতি দায়িত্ববোধঃ
“I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.”
অনুবাদঃ “আমি সামান্য সময়ের জন্য বিশ্রাম নিতে পারি কিন্তু স্বাধীনতা আমাদের জন্য বিশাল এক দায়িত্ববোধ নিয়ে আসে ফলে এখানে কোন গড়িমসি করার সময় নেই, আমার দীর্ঘ যাত্রা এখনো শেষ হয়নি।”
৯) শত্রুর সাথে বন্ধুত্ব নিয়েঃ
“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.”
অনুবাদঃ “আপনি যদি শত্রুর সাথে শান্তিতে থাকতে চান তবে তার সাথে আপনাকে মিশে যেতে হবে কাঁধে কাঁধ মিলিয়ে কাজ করতে হবে তবেই আপনার শত্রু আপনার সঙ্গী তে পরিণত হবে।”
১০) নেতার আদর্শ নিয়েঃ
“Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of their people.”
অনুবাদঃ “একজন প্রকৃত এবং আদর্শ নেতাকে অবশ্যই নিজ জাতির জন্য সকল প্রকারের স্বাধীনতার নিশ্চিত করতে নিজের পক্ষ থেকে সর্বোচ্চ ত্যাগ স্বীকারের জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকতে হবে।”
