The 5th Student's Concert on the 16th of September 2023, at The Calcutta School of Music saw seventy budding artists of the school studying Indian Vocals, Piano, Classical and Non Classical Guitar, Electronic Keyboard, Violin and Choirs of different age groups entertaining a full hall for almost two hours. The audiences were enthralled by the little ones performing classical pieces, syncopated rhythms, challenging technical passages with elan. The evening ended with happy faces of the performers who went back home all enthused by the applause to come back again on stage with even better performances.
The Classical Guitar and the Violin performance in our 2nd Monsoon concert this year was indeed a memorable one. Santanu Datta and Pallab Pramanick, excellent musicians, showcased music from various eras. The solo Guitar recital showed Santanu's brilliant musicianship. The Duet performance was extremely enjoyable and both the performers were at their very best with perfect sync, well balanced while demonstrating a wide range of techniques.
An evening to be etched in the minds of the audience for days to come.
The Performance Arts Concert was held on the 19th of August 2023. 44 students in a riot of colours and makeup were up on stage that evening. The youngest students of the school, the Junior Music Batch were the first ones to perform. They showcased their singing and rhythmic skills with much confidence followed by students of the Indian Section, Speech and Drama, Junior Choir and the Western Vocal group.
The evening of 12th August 2023 witnessed a brilliant performance by two outstanding Indian Classical Artists Pt. Nabhodeep Chakraborty and Pt. Soumalya Chakraborty at the Sandre Hall of The Calcutta School of Music.
The performance was preluded by talks on various gharanas of Indian classical music, their style of rendition and eminent artists of that era, by Pt. Nobhodeep Chakraborty, followed by a most melodious redition of monsoon raag and kajri.
Pt. Soumalya Chakraborty in the second half of the programme, presented a mesmerising performance of raag Desh.
It was indeed a beautiful and enriching evening for all present.

Glimpses from the Crescendo XII 2023 finals of the non classical section held on 23rd July 2023.
The participants in the non-classical section were classified under Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels and the participants displayed their skills on the Keyboard, the Guitar, the Drumkit and in Solo Voice. The total number of applicants for the Non Classical Section were 122 and the number of finalists were 61.
Crescendo XII 2023 recently concluded at The Calcutta School of Music. The musical competition having both Classical and Non Classical sections was held on 22nd and 23rd July 2023. The competition saw the participation of 242 students from across disciplines right at the entry level and culminated in the finals having a total number of 107 talented finalists competing for the winner’s title.
The performances showed the hard work the students had put in over the years. Each of the performers moved the judges, Ms. Minette Duncan Marbaniang, Mewarika Pakyntein and Khyochano TCK who based their decisions on technical aspect, notational accuracy, fluency, interpretation and communication.
The participants in the Classical section were classified under Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels. In these, competition was held on the Violin, the Piano and the Classical Guitar. The total number of applicants for the Classical Section was 93 and the number of finalists was 48.

The Students' Non Classical concert on 15th July 2023 displayed the talents of the Electronic Keyboard and Non Classical Guitar pupils of the School. The young budding artists successfully brought in the marks of professionalism in their performances. The popular pieces presented by the young musicians entertained the audience for the hours-long concert.

The World Music Day Concert on Wednesday, 21st June 2023, at The Calcutta school of Music presented a bouquet of performances with different colours and genres. Sufi and Ghazals were punctuated with melodies on the piano. The Classical Guitar Ensemble comprised of young students brought in the flavour of Spanish music. The Calcutta Chamber Orchestra presented the Classical era and performed works by Bach, Tchaikovsky and Warlock.

The Classical concert presented by the students of the Classical Section of The Calcutta School of Music on the 17th of June 2023, was a concert with a difference.
Each of the 21 performers were impeccably dressed, performed with grace and poise that spoke much about the polish and confidence of our pupils that was gathered through careful nurturing by their mentors.
The audience was enthralled and all spent a serene evening, an evening of peace and tranquility with pure classical music.
The Annual Students' Concert of the Non Classical section being organized after 3 long years on 7th May 2023, was a mix of stiff competition with entertainment. A total number of 44 contestants from the disciples of Electronic Keyboard, Guitar, Vocals and Drumkit, enthralled the audience. Our esteemed judges for the evening, Dr. Sucheta Sanyal, Mr. Kaizad Rabadi and Mr. Surojit BasuMallick were in all praises of the performances.
The concert concluded with the prize distribution ceremony with the students going back with the medals and trophies promising even better performances in years to come.
After a gap of three years, all at The Calcutta School of Music witnessed the Annual Students' Concert (Classical Section) on the 6th of May, 2023. The hall was bursting to the full capacity with the promising pianists, violinists and guitarists and their friends and well wishers. Our esteemed judges for the evening were Pianist Sashi Puri, Classical Guitarist Santanu Dutta and Pianist Abhro Roy.
The contestants performed with grace and confidence and left the Judges in a dilemma to identify the winner.
The Annual Students' Concert brought back the spirit in our students to work harder and we all look forward to even better performances in the years to come.
