রিয়াগিং কাকে বলেঃ কোনো জুনিয়র ছাত্র বা ছাত্রীর ইচ্ছার বিরুদ্ধে যখন এক বা একাধিক সিনিয়র, সিনিয়রিটি এবং ক্ষমতার অপব্যবহার করে কোন কাজ করতে বাধ্য করে, তাকে র্যাগিং বলে।
• কি হয়েছিল সেদিনঃ পুজোর আগে যেখানে নিয়ম নেই, সেখানে দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রটি অবৈধ ভাবে হস্টেলে নিজের রুমে প্রথম বর্ষের কিছু ছাত্রকে রাখতে শুরু করে। হস্টেলের anti ragging squad সদস্য মানিক হালদার তা হোস্টেল সুপারের নজরে আনে। এর মধ্যেই কেউ দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রটির ঘরের কাঁচ ভেঙে দেয়। কে ঘটনাটি কেন ঘটাল নাকি ঘটনাটি নিছকই দুর্ঘটনা তা এখনো স্পষ্ট নয়। বিষয়টি নিজেদের মধ্যেই মিটিয়ে নিতে হস্টেলে মিটিং বসে, যেখানে মানিক, অনুপম ও অন্যান্য ছাত্ররা উপস্থিত ছিল। মিটিং-এ দু তরফে উত্তপ্ত কথা কাটাকাটি চলে, দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রটি সাহস থাকলে one to one লড়াইয়ের চ্যালেঞ্জ জানাতে থাকে এবং বাপ-মা তুলে গালিগালাজ করে। প্রথম বর্ষে থাকাকালীন এই ছাত্রটি-ই এক সিনিয়রকে ঘুঁষি মেরেছিল। এরই মধ্যে অনুপম মেজাজ হারিয়ে ২য় বর্ষের ছাত্রটিকে চড় মেরে বসে। যদিও মিটিং শেষ হয় সবাই সবার কাছে ক্ষমা চেয়ে নিয়ে। পরের দিন কেউ ২য় বর্ষের ছাত্রটির ঘরের বাইরে মলত্যাগ করে যায়। এরপর সে ugc-এর ওয়েবসাইটে অভিযোগ করে। সেই অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে যাদবপুর কর্তৃপক্ষ দুই ফোর্থ ইয়ারের ছাত্রকে একজনকে এক সেমেস্টার এবং আরেকজনকে দুই সেমেস্টার সাসপেন্ড করে। যার মানে দাঁড়ায় দুজনের-ই এক বছর করে নষ্ট হওয়া।
এরপরে, FETSU তাদের আন্দোলন শুরু করে, RE-INVESTIGATION চেয়ে। অরবিন্দ ভবনের সামনে ৫০ ঘন্টা শান্তিপূর্ণ অবস্থান এবং তারপরে ১২০ ঘন্টার রিলে অনশনের পরেও উপাচার্য্য কথা বলতে আসেননি। ইতিমধ্যে আচার্য্য এবং রাজ্যপাল এম. কে. নারায়ণন মন্তব্য করেন যে আটক বা ঘেরাও করে রাখা কোনোভাবেই সমর্থনযোগ্য নয় এবং আন্দোলনরত ছাত্রছাত্রীদের তুলে দেওয়াই উচিত।
এখানে দেখা যাচ্ছে, বিভিন্ন কলেজে অধ্যক্ষকে চেন দিয়ে পেটালেও কেউ কিছু বলে না, কিন্তু যাদবপুরের স্টুডেন্টদের র্যাগার, মার্ডারার অথবা রেপিস্ট বলতে কারুর একটুও দেরি হয়না।
ঘটনার অসঙ্গতিঃ UGC চিঠি পাঠানোয় তড়িঘড়ি ছাত্র সংসদের প্রতিনিধিদের নিয়ে anti ragging committee'র মিটিং বসে। কিন্তু GS AGS কাউকেই আগের থেকে কোনো agenda পাঠানো হয়নি। তারা প্রথম মিটিং-এ গিয়ে শুনতে পায়, স্টুডেন্টদের মধ্যে ঝগড়াঝাঁটির ঘটনাকে র্যাগিং বলে শাস্তি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। তারা এই সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে তাদের নোট অফ ডিসেন্ট দেয়। ফলে বোঝাই যাচ্ছে ভয়ংকর গরমিল রয়েছে।
আমরা কেউ র্যাগিং-এর পক্ষে নই। কিন্তু, আমরা চাইছি ঘটনার সঠিক তদন্ত হোক।
এই দাবিতে, ২৬শে সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৩, সকাল ৯টা থেকে ফেটসু-র আন্দোলনরত ছাত্রছাত্রীরা আমরণ অনশনে.
