Boys’ Day Celebration Report
Our school celebrated Boys’ Day along with a joyful and activity-filled Bagless Day to encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and holistic learning among students. The celebration aimed to provide students with a refreshing break from regular classroom learning and engage them in fun, educational, and skill-based activities.
The Bagless Day concept allowed students to come to school without books and participate freely in various experiential learning activities. The event created a lively atmosphere where students explored their talents, developed social skills, and enjoyed learning through participation and interaction.
Objectives of the Celebration
To promote joyful and stress-free learning.
To encourage creativity, communication, and teamwork.
To improve physical and mental well-being.
To develop confidence and leadership qualities among students.
To provide hands-on learning experiences beyond textbooks.
Activities Conducted
1. Story Telling
Students enthusiastically participated in the storytelling session. They narrated moral stories, inspirational incidents, and imaginative tales with confidence and expression. The activity helped improve speaking skills, creativity, and stage confidence.
2. Quiz Competition
An exciting quiz competition was organized on topics such as general knowledge, science, sports, and current affairs. Students actively answered questions and displayed excellent teamwork and presence of mind.
3. Yoga Session
A refreshing yoga session was conducted to promote physical fitness, concentration, and mental peace. Students practiced different yoga postures and breathing exercises under proper guidance.
4. Dumb Charades
The Dumb Charades activity brought great excitement and laughter among students. Participants guessed movies, famous personalities, and actions through gestures and expressions, improving observation and communication skills.
5. Various Indoor Games
Different indoor games such as chess, carrom, ludo, puzzles, and board games were arranged for students. These games encouraged strategic thinking, patience, teamwork, and healthy competition.
6. Basketball
Students enthusiastically participated in basketball matches organized on the school playground. The activity promoted sportsmanship, discipline, physical fitness, and team spirit.
7. Science Experiments
Simple and interesting science experiments were demonstrated and performed by students. These practical activities increased curiosity, scientific thinking, and hands-on learning experiences.

Conclusion
The Boys’ Day and Bagless Day celebration was a grand success. Students actively participated in all activities with great enthusiasm and energy. The program successfully created a joyful learning environment where students learned valuable life skills beyond academics. Such celebrations play an important role in the overall personality development of children and make school life more enjoyable and meaningful.

Celebrating the glorious 110 years of our school in the presence of our respected President of the Boys' Section Sri Prakash Chand Nahar, our Headmistress Smt. Poonam Singh, dedicated teachers and dear students.
The occasion was filled with inspiration as Sir shared the rich history of our school, highlighting the importance of education and guiding students on the right path. His words, along with cherished memories from the past, made the celebration truly special.

The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence in our school. The program was organized in the esteemed presence of our respected Headmistress, Smt. Poonam Singh Madam, along with all the teachers and students.
The celebration began with a brief introduction highlighting the life and achievements of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, who was a Nobel Prize-winning poet, philosopher, and visionary. The atmosphere of the school was filled with cultural spirit and respect for his immense contributions to literature and society.
Students actively participated in a variety of cultural activities. They presented melodious songs inspired by Tagore’s compositions, graceful dance performances, and thoughtful speeches reflecting his ideals and teachings. The performances beautifully captured the essence of Tagore’s works and left the audience deeply impressed.
In addition to the performances, students also showcased their artistic talents by creating wonderful portraits of Rabindranath Tagore. These artworks were displayed and appreciated by everyone present, adding a creative touch to the celebration.
The highlight of the event was the delightful and inspiring speech delivered by our Headmistress, Smt. Poonam Singh Madam. A Dengue Awareness Program was successfully organized in our school campus to educate students about the causes, prevention, and control of dengue fever. The program aimed to spread awareness and encourage responsible actions to maintain a healthy environment.
The event witnessed active participation from students across various classes. The program began with informative speeches delivered by students, where they explained the causes of dengue, its symptoms, and preventive measures such as avoiding stagnant water and maintaining cleanliness.
Students also showcased their creativity by preparing attractive posters and drawings related to dengue awareness. These visual representations effectively highlighted the importance of hygiene and the dangers of mosquito-borne diseases. The posters were displayed around the campus to spread awareness among all students and staff members.
In addition, students presented informative presentations using charts and models. These presentations helped in better understanding of how dengue spreads and the steps that can be taken to prevent it.
The program was conducted in the presence of our respected Headmistress, Smt. Poonam Singh, who also encouraged the students with her motivating words and appreciated their efforts.
The program was both educational and engaging. It not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also encouraged them to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
Overall, the Dengue Awareness Program was a great success and served as an important step towards promoting health and hygiene among students.

The farewell celebration for the students of Class XII was organized with great enthusiasm and joy in our school. The event was graced by the presence of the President of our Boys’ Section, Sri Prakash Chand Nahar Sir, and our respected Headmistress, Smt. Poonam Singh Ma’am, along with all the teachers and students.
The program began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a series of vibrant performances by the students. The juniors presented beautiful dance performances and melodious singing, creating a lively and emotional atmosphere. The performances were a token of love and respect for the outgoing batch.
To make the event more engaging and enjoyable, fun games such as Musical Chair and Dare to Do were organized. All the students actively participated, bringing laughter and excitement to the celebration.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was the motivational speech delivered by our President, Sri Prakash Chand Nahar Sir. His words of wisdom encouraged the students to work hard, stay disciplined, and face future challenges with confidence and determination.
The farewell concluded on an emotional note as students of Class XII expressed their gratitude towards the school, teachers, and their juniors for the love and support they received throughout their journey.

Celebration of Lord Mahavira Jayanti

Lord Mahavira Jayanti was celebrated in our school with great devotion and enthusiasm. On this auspicious occasion, around 200 students of the school actively participate which was organised by the Sree Jain Swetamber Terapanthi Sabha, Kolkata.

An Ahimsa (non-violence) rally was organized by the students. The rally was attended by the President of the school, Sri Prakash Chandra Nahar, Headmistress Smt. Poonam Singh, Ahimsa Media In-charge Monath Ji, and all the teachers. The rally was conducted in the presence of Jain Muni Shri Jinesh Kumar Ji.

The rally started from the school premises and passed through Canning Street, Mitra Parishad, M.G. Road, Pagayapatti, and Brabourne Road, before concluding back at the school campus. During the rally, students raised slogans based on the teachings of Lord Mahavira and spread the message of non-violence, truth, and love among the people.

The main objective of the program was to make students aware of the principles of Lord Mahavira and inspire them to follow his ideals in their lives. The event was highly motivating and successful.

कोलकाता का पुर्तगाली चर्च: मेरी स्मृतियों और इतिहास के झरोखे से
​लेखक: डॉ. सुशील कुमार पांडेय (Senior Assistant Teacher (History) of our Vidyalaya.
​1 जुलाई 1992 वह ऐतिहासिक दिन था, जब मैंने कोलकाता के बड़ाबाजार स्थित श्री जैन श्वेतांबर तेरापंथी विद्यालय में शिक्षक के रूप में अपना पदभार ग्रहण किया। यह विद्यालय न केवल ज्ञान का केंद्र है, बल्कि अपने आप में इतिहास को समेटे हुए है। इसकी स्थापना 1916 ईस्वी में हुई थी—वही दौर जब दुनिया प्रथम विश्व युद्ध की विभीषिका झेल रही थी। विद्यालय के भवन में कभी 'पाठक ब्रदर्स' की प्रसिद्ध मिठाई दुकान हुआ करती थी, जो आज स्वरूप बदल चुकी है, किंतु स्कूल की प्राचीनता और गौरव आज भी अडिग है।
​जिज्ञासा का केंद्र: पुर्तगाली चर्च
​इतिहास का विद्यार्थी होने के नाते, जब मैं पहली बार विद्यालय गया, तो पास ही स्थित पुर्तगाली चर्च (Most Holy Rosary Cathedral) ने मेरा ध्यान खींचा। वह मेरे लिए मात्र एक धार्मिक स्थल नहीं, बल्कि एक 'ऐतिहासिक प्रतीक' बन गया। धीरे-धीरे यह चर्च मेरी पहचान का हिस्सा बन गया; जो भी मुझसे मिलने आता, मैं उसे यही कहता— "पुर्तगाली चर्च के पास ही मेरा स्कूल है।"
​मुर्गीहाटा और चर्च का उद्भव
​पुर्तगाली चर्च का इतिहास उतार-चढ़ाव भरा रहा है। जब पुर्तगाली भारत आए, तो उनमें से कई ने स्थानीय महिलाओं से विवाह किया। उनकी संतानों को 'किंटल' कहा जाता था। काम की तलाश में जब ये लोग कलकत्ता आए, तो ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने उन्हें हुगली नदी के किनारे बसने की अनुमति दी। इनका मुख्य व्यवसाय मुर्गी पालन और विक्रय था, जिसके कारण यह क्षेत्र आज भी 'मुर्गीहाटा' के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है।
​जॉब चार्नाक ने ऑगस्टीनियन संप्रदाय के कैथोलिकों को प्रार्थना स्थल के लिए दस बीघा जमीन दी थी। हालांकि, 1693 में उन्हें वहां से बेदखल कर दिया गया, किंतु कुछ समय बाद भिक्षु पुनः लौटे और एक ईंटों के गिरजाघर की नींव रखी। 1720 में इस स्थान का विस्तार हुआ।
​चमत्कार और ऐतिहासिक संघर्ष
​1756 में जब बंगाल के नवाब सिराजुद्दौला ने कोलकाता पर आक्रमण किया, तो शहर में मची लूटपाट के बीच पुर्तगाली चर्च का सुरक्षित बच जाना किसी चमत्कार से कम नहीं था। हालांकि, जब अंग्रेजों का 'सेंट ऐनी चर्च' नष्ट हुआ, तो उन्होंने इस चर्च पर अधिकार कर लिया। यह विवाद वर्षों चला, अंततः 1796 में लंदन स्थित 'कोर्ट ऑफ डायरेक्टर्स' के हस्तक्षेप के बाद इसे पुनः पुर्तगालियों को सौंप दिया गया।
​वर्तमान भव्य स्वरूप प्रसिद्ध पुर्तगाली व्यापारी बारेटो बंधुओं के आर्थिक सहयोग का परिणाम है। जेम्स ड्राइवर द्वारा डिजाइन किया गया यह नया चर्च 27 नवंबर 1799 को जनता के लिए खोला गया। उस समय इसके निर्माण में लगभग 90,000 रुपये की लागत आई थी।
​वास्तुकला और आध्यात्मिक सौंदर्य
​कैथोलिक शैली में निर्मित इस चर्च की पहचान इसकी दो भव्य मीनारें हैं, जिनके शीर्ष पर मुकुट के आकार के गुंबद सुशोभित हैं। चर्च के भीतर का गलियारा और रंगीन कांच की खिड़कियां इसकी सुंदरता में चार चांद लगाती हैं।
​इस चर्च का मुख्य आध्यात्मिक आकर्षण '14 क्रॉस स्टेशन' (क्रूस के 14 पड़ाव) हैं। यह ईसा मसीह के अंतिम कष्टों और बलिदान की यात्रा का चित्रण करते हैं:
1.​यीशु को मृत्युदंड मिलना।
2.​क्रूस को स्वीकार करना।
3.​पहली बार गिरना।
4.​माता मरियम से मिलना।
5.​साइरेन के साइमन द्वारा मदद।
6.​वेरोनिका द्वारा चेहरा पोंछना।
7.​दूसरी बार गिरना।
8.​यरूशलेम की महिलाओं से संवाद।
9.​तीसरी बार गिरना।
10.​वस्त्र उतारे जाना।
11.​क्रूस पर कीलों से जड़ा जाना।
12.​मृत्यु।
13.​क्रूस से उतारा जाना।
14.​कब्र में रखा जाना।
​ये 14 पड़ाव सुंदर नक्काशीदार आकृतियों के रूप में पॉलिश किए हुए लकड़ी के फ्रेम में जड़े हैं, जो दीवारों पर इतिहास और आस्था की गवाही देते हैं।
​निष्कर्ष
​बर्मन रोड और कैनिंग स्ट्रीट के व्यस्ततम चौराहे पर स्थित होने के बावजूद, चर्च के भीतर कदम रखते ही एक अलौकिक शांति का अनुभव होता है। शोर-शराबे से भरे बड़ाबाजार के बीच यह स्थल आज भी अपनी प्राचीनता और गरिमा को संजोए खड़ा है, ठीक उसी तरह जैसे मेरा विद्यालय अपनी विरासत को आगे बढ़ा रहा है।
