Independence Day Celebration 2026 at North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School, Rajarhat
North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School, Rajarhat celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with immense pride and patriotic fervour through a grand cultural programme titled “Yeh Kahani Hai Tirange Ki.” The celebration brought together respected Founder Secretary Ma'am Mrs. Meena Sethi Mondal Ma'am, Chairman Sir Mr.Amit Sethi Mondal, Director Ma'am Mrs. Manisha Saha, Principal Ma'am Mrs Maitraye Chakraborty, Coordinator Ma'am Mrs. Ritika Sethi Mondal, Prerna Sethi Mondal Ma'am, Vice Principal Ma'am Sutapa Mandal, teachers, staff, students, and esteemed guests in a heartfelt tribute to the nation, its freedom fighters, and the values represented by the Tricolour.
The programme commenced with the welcome and escorting of the Respected Founder Secretary Ma'am and esteemed guests, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and the National Anthem. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the campus with a profound sense of patriotism and national pride.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was performed by the Respected Founder Secretary Ma'am, Chairman Sir, Director Ma'am, Principal Ma'am, Coordinator Ma'am, Prerna Sethi Mondal Ma'am and Vice Principal Ma'am, symbolising knowledge, hope, and enlightenment.
As the honoured guest for the Independence Day celebration, the renowned cricketer and IPL star Mr. Shreevats Goswami graced the occasion. He inspired the students with an encouraging speech about discipline, teamwork, and the importance of cricket as a sport followed by a warm felicitation by our respected Founder Secretary Mrs Meena Sethi Mondal.
In his speech Mr. Goswami highlighted the planning of the upcoming Cricket Academy which is going to be launched in the school campus very soon. Mr. Chatman Gill the main initiator of the upcoming Cricket Academy was also warmly felicitated by our respected Founder Secretary ma'am.
The cultural programme opened with stirring renditions of “Vande Mataram” and “Mera Mulk Mera Desh,” accompanied by a melodious band performance by the students. The students of TT, Nursery, and KG added a delightful touch with their group song “Nanha Munna Rahi Hoon,” expressing their innocent love for the nation.
A special felicitation ceremony by Respected Founder Secretary Ma'am, Chairman Sir, Director Ma'am, Principal Ma'am, Coordinator Ma'am, Prerna Sethi Mondal Ma'am, Vice Principal Ma'am, TI sir and ma'am, was held to honour the Class X and Class XII toppers of the academic session 2025–26, recognising their academic excellence and dedication. This was followed by the Badge Giving Ceremony for the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, and Deputy Head Girl, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
The programme also included the Rank Distribution Ceremony for the NCC Cadets, recognising their discipline, commitment, leadership, and dedication to the ideals of the National Cadet Corps. The cadets were felicitated for their achievements and encouraged to continue upholding the values of unity, discipline, service, and patriotism.
The cultural performances continued with a vibrant group dance by the students of TT and KG, followed by a graceful Yoga Dance. A captivating recitation programme further showcased the literary talents and confidence of the students.
The audience was then treated to energetic group dance performances by the students of Classes I & II, Classes III–V, and Classes VIII & IX. Each presentation beautifully reflected the students' enthusiasm, creativity, coordination, and patriotic spirit.
A thought-provoking skit on Women Empowerment conveyed a powerful message about equality, dignity, confidence, and the significant role of women in the progress and development of the nation.
The students of Classes VI and VII followed with another vibrant group dance, keeping the energy and patriotic spirit of the celebration alive.
The grand finale was the spectacular “Azad Parindey” patriotic dance drama, which beautifully portrayed the journey from sacrifice to freedom and celebrated the dreams, aspirations, and indomitable spirit of a free India. Through powerful expressions, choreography, and music, the students left the audience deeply moved and inspired.
The entire celebration was a magnificent blend of patriotism, culture, academic excellence, leadership, discipline, sportsmanship, and artistic expression. “Yeh Kahani Hai Tirange Ki” was not merely a celebration of Independence but a reminder of the sacrifices behind our freedom and the responsibility of every citizen to uphold the values of unity, integrity, courage, and service.
The programme concluded with a renewed sense of national pride, leaving everyone with the inspiring thought that the Tiranga is not merely a flag—it is a symbol of India's sacrifice, unity, freedom, dreams, and hope for the future.
