St. Joseph's Convent Kolkata Chapter

Hi to all fellow Josephites of the Kolkata Chapter, we had a fun meeting on the 12th of this month. In this meet we have decided to follow up on our charity work before the Pujas. For this, post 24th September we will be visiting an orphanage & an old age home to find out how we can help them. Any suggestions or information is welcome. You can post it on this page or get in touch with any of the members.

Today Madhushreedi, seemadi n myself went to Asha Bhawan, a drug rehab center in Garia....we took 10kg rice 5kg dal 10kg potatoes one oil pack 1kg tea n sweets for the people there. We spent an hour talking to the various people living there. There are about 35 males n 4 women n 4 children staying dere. They manage their organization with donations from private people n occasional grants from Spain. They also take old clothes......if anyone is interested then we can collect old clothes n give it to them.

It was decided in our last meet that we will collect an annual subsciption of Rs.1500.Members are requested to contribute the amt. Today ten of us met again for lunch at Princeton club.It was a small informal group.The idea is to keep the spirit of the Josephite alive. We have decided that we will meet every month even if we are few in number. Also we will try to do some little charity. This time we will visit a drug rehabilitation center in Garia on the 14th of April. They want contribution in the form of rice,dal and so on.So that is what we will take with us.Members can join us and also contribute whatever they wish.

Her address: CRPF Bhawan, Block HC Sector IIISalt Lake....near Calcutta Heart Clinic....Sushrut & opp Homeopathy College.....if you are coming from Science city side, then take a flyover from chingrighata towards Nicco park. so keeping Nicco park to your right...go ahead & take the first left turn over the canal....its a bridge. after crossing the bridge the first house on the left hand side is her house....its in crpf campus......see you all on the 20th December at 1.00 pm.
