I started my Actuarial journey because of the great future prospects it is believed to offer and also because of my keen interest in applying Mathematics, statistics and Economics. So, with my Bachelor's in Economics, I chose this line.
I started my journey with Finatics in 2018 and ever since, I have been more disciplined and determined to achieve my goals. It happened because of the constant motivation and support from both Ashnut Kothary Sir and Gunjan Goyal Di. They always had a point to keep on telling us, to complete the syllabus on time. Their way of teaching is so good that one can fall in love with the subject. This is what happened with me in the case of CS2 as they had always taught with the objective of improving our understanding of the subject and its applications and not with the only objective of helping us to clear the paper. Giving Industry tips, scolding us to study repeatedly, constantly asking us to not study only with the objective of passing, helping us improve our skill set, giving tips on how one should prepare as to clear interviews, and being consistent with posting the job opportunities as soon as they are aware of it, they have been my constant support and my mentors. Whatever I achieve in life, be it present or future, I owe them a lot. They deserve all my Thankyou(s)

In the past few weeks, many students based out of India as well as Nepal have approached me to know more details regarding pursuing masters in actuarial science from universities primarily based out of UK.

Following were the questions which almost all these students had

1) Number of actuarial exams for which they could claim exemption from IAI /IFoA post completion of masters.

2) Chances of securing exemptions in actuarial exams.

3) Cost involved in the form of university fees, accommodation etc.

4) Ease of getting a job abroad and the compensation expectations.

5) Eligibility criteria to pursue masters from such universities.

6) Procedure of application and timelines associated with the admission process.

7) Scholarships available (if any) for these courses.

8) And finally is it worth spending the amount it costs if intention is to come back and work in India only.

As such we are planning to hold a live session where these questions as well as more questions surrounding it would be answered directly from ones who have recently completed their masters from these universities.

I would like to reach out to ones who have completed their masters in actuarial science between 2019-2022 from these universities or have taken admission in 2022-2023 batch and willing to address all such questions from interested students in a live online session.

IFoA Sept 2022 Examination Handbook has been released.

Following are the important informations:

1. Equipment Check is mandatory fo each paper and will have to be performed 7 days prior to the exam taking place. Each exam will have its own equipment check. If not performed, one won't be able to download the exam paper.

2. Students can place screenshots and image captured in the word file if they use excel for their calculations, given the entire calculation is visible in the image for marking.

3. The upload time of solutions is 30 minutes. In this 30 minutes window, one cannot work in their files as the last modified time is monitored by them.

4. IFoA only accepts word and excel document. No other document format can be uploaded.

5. The option to preview answer script is available to make sure correct scripts are selected before uploading.

6. Joining instructions to exams will be available in the member's login two weeks prior to exam, rather than email. This is will be in trail and final communication will be done later

All students appearing for exams this session are expected to go through this especially ones appearing for the first time from IFoA.
