𝐈𝐈𝐌 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝟖𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦.

The Independence Day celebrations commenced with the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠, followed by the 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐀𝐥𝐨𝐤 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐢, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐈𝐈𝐌 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐚, and the National Anthem. In his address, Prof. Rai reflected on India’s achievements and the collective responsibility to contribute to the country’s continued growth.

This was followed by addresses by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐥 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞; 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 (𝐈𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞); 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐡, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐈𝐈𝐌𝐂𝐄𝐔; and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐓𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥.

The celebration also recognised achievements across the IIM Calcutta community. Academic prizes were presented to MBA-II students of the 62nd Batch based on their first-year academic performance, while non-academic prizes recognised achievements and contributions across the community. The awards were presented by the Director.

The programme concluded with the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, followed by a 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞, bringing the IIM Calcutta community together in celebration of the nation’s Independence.
