Honoring the Bard of Bengal: Rabindra Jayanti- 2026 at Maria Memorial High School,šŸŽ’Dum Dum Cantonment

Today, our school was immersed in the spirit of Rabindranath Tagore as we celebrated the 165th birth anniversary of the Bard of Bengal with love, reverence, and art.

The morning began with a floral tribute to Kaviguru, filling the air with the scent of incense and the sound of conch shells. What followed was a heartfelt cultural programme where the timeless creations of the Bard came alive through our students and teachers.

Our young voices brought soul to beloved Rabindra Sangeet, echoing through every corridor. Students and teachers delivered powerful poetry recitations of Tagore’s iconic works, reminding us why the Bard’s words still stir the soul after a century. From the youngest of Class I to our senior teachers, everyone participated with the same devotion — proving that the legacy of the Bard of Bengal belongs to every generation.

It wasn’t just a programme. It was a reminder of Gurudev’s vision: ā€œWhere the mind is without fear and the head is held high.ā€ In a world that rushes forward, we paused today to look back at the man who taught us to think, to feel, and to create fearlessly.

To all our performers — thank you for making us proud. You didn’t just recite ,dance ,or sing the Bard’s creations. You lived him today.
