There’s something so, so satisfying by being in nature, but working hard, feeling resilience after doing something kinda rugged. And farming at any given moment of the day you could be called to do something that is like a vital kind of life-saving tending. I think that kind of thrill is really human. I never imagined I’d be home helping in this way again, but I’m proud to have been helping farm since I was a really young girl.
There’s nowhere else that I would’ve been able to learn how to live within the rhythms of nature so thoroughly. Now I know this in my bones.
