The Faculty of Arts and Social Studies, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, organised a 2-Day National Conference titled โ€œNarratives of the Mind: Media, Literature and Culture in the Indian Contextโ€ on 10th and 11th September, 2026. Faculty members and researchers from eminent institutions such as IIT Madras, Banaras Hindu University, IISER Bhopal, Jadavpur University, and Christ University, Bangalore presented papers at the conference. The inaugural address was delivered by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj, who welcomed the delegates and also released the book of abstracts. This was followed by the keynote address by Dr. Arka Chattopadhyay, Associate Professor, Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Gandhinagar. The conference provided a platform for interdisciplinary academic research and collaboration and brought together 191 participants from across the country. The valedictory session was presided over by the Registrar, Rev. Fr. Dr. Xavier Jeyaraj and the valedictory address was delivered by Prof. Debashis Bandhopadhyay, Pro Vice-Chancellor of KIIT, Bhubaneswar.
