Again cyberattack on the Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi! Chances of data breaches. The server was down for a day and the problem was resolved later. This attack was less severe than AIIMS Delhi.

But why a ransom attack on India? What does it indicate? The power grid was attacked first, then the hospitals. Who can give a guarantee that hackers won't cripple India's defense system, banking system, and all the government infrastructure!

Many unscrupulous cyber teams are there in the hands of foreign powers who are creating sabotage. The big challenge before India. Fear of cyber-war across the world? Who will take responsibility if all the information about India is stolen?

The Hackathon 2022 was organized to appeal to start-ups, professionals, or individuals. Actually, a repository of the problem statement is wanted by the world. ABP - Infocom and we took this joint initiative to clear concepts of how things are done in the cyber zone.

The fact of the point was about cybercrimes and cyberattack precautions. What is the purpose of downloading the TOR browser? Is there any distinction between the deep web and the dark web? How fake identity is created, AI- made face never exists, and many more.

Joint Secretary of IT & E Department Mr. Sanjay Kr Das told that Cyber Tsunami is about to come to our threshold and how the anonymity of the data become the greatest challenge of today.

IPS officer and additional commissioner of police Mr. H.K.Kusumakar told that 90% of cases are related to fake IP addresses, and fake SIM cards and also told about the requirement for a cyber security investigator, data protection officer, independent auditor, and consent manager.

Data protection and privacy Lawyer Ms. Tashi Gyanee talked about how much we are ready in the digital forensic part and whether the data protection bill is good or bad.

Managing Director and Startup mentor at Kolkata Ventures, Mr. Avelo Roy delivered an awesome motivating speech on growing the skill ability to quench market hunger.

In one of the worst data breaches in recent times, mobile numbers of nearly 500 million users have been drained and up for sale at different prices in a dark web forum. The leak might be a data scrape. This is not the first instance that the meta-owned platform WhatsApp has been hit by a data breach.

According to Cyber news, an advertisement posted on a well-known hacking forum claimed that they were selling a 2022 database of 487 million active WhatsApp users from 84 nations. The US database is on sale for seven thousand dollars, meanwhile, the UK database is on sale for twenty-five thousand dollars.

This loss had the greatest impact on Egypt. The report further alleges that the database comprises mobile numbers or WhatsApp users from India, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the US, the UK, Egypt, France, and Turkey. From India, the report added more than 6 million WhatsApp users could be at risk.

WhatsApp users need to be mindful as hackers use such information mostly for smishing attacks, wishing attacks, spamming, phishing, identity theft, and other activities. These are such types of where criminals try to get users to click on a fraudulent link through text, mail, or voice message.

Are you clicking on the good morning messages? Have you forwarded them to your friends? These messages can have embedded malware in link, video, pdf, images. This is how the WhatsApp can get hacked.

It is recommended that users should remain wary of any unsolicited calls and messages. Responding to these calls, texts or voicemails can be minacious leading to users losing money or critical personal data. Rigorous measures should be taken to attenuate threats and prevent platform abuses from a technical standpoint.
