What is Invoice?

Invoices & Bills are source documents that are used for credit purchases & credit sales.This document is generally issued by a seller to the buyer,indicating the products,quantities and agreed prices for products or services the seller has provided to the buyer.Its original copy is sent/given to the buyer and the duplicate copy is kept as an evidence of sale for future reference.In case of credit purchase we received invoices or bills from the supplier & on the basis of such evidence credit purchases are recorded in the books of accounts.Moreover,payment terms are usually included in the invoices.

What is Credit Note?

In case of goods received back from our customers,we issue Credit Note to them, means that customers account will be credited by the amount of sales return.
This instrument is used as source document evidencing a credit to be given to a party for various reasons such as-goods received back from customer on return, over valuation of price of goods in invoice and so on.

What is Debit Note?
In case of return of goods which was purchased on credit,the buyer issue debit note to the seller.
It implies that seller account has been debited with the amount of purchase return.
This instrument is used as source document evidencing a debit to be raised against a party for various reasons such as--return of goods to supplier or some additional amount to be recovered from the customers being excess in supply,damaged,inferior quality and so on.

What is Contingent liability?

Contingent liabilities are liabilities that may be incurred by an entity depending on the outcome of an uncertain future event such as a court case. These liabilities are not recorded in a company's accounts and shown in the balance sheet when both probable and reasonably estimable as 'contingency' or 'worst case' financial outcome. A footnote to the balance sheet may describe the nature and extent of the contingent liabilities. The likelihood of loss is described as probable, reasonably possible, or remote. The ability to estimate a loss is described as known, reasonably estimable, or not reasonably estimable. It may or may not occur.
