National Institute of Homoeopathy was established on 10th December, 1975 in Kolkata as an Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. It is registered under the West Bengal Societies registration Act XXVI of 1961 with Registration No. S/17640 of 1976-77. Started functioning in a rented building at 118, Raja Ram Mohan Sarani, Calcutta-700009 (Marwari Hospital Building) located at Amherst Street, Kolkata. On 16th August 1986, it was shifted to its present sprawling location at Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700106.
