An engaging and thought-provoking Peer Seminar organized by the Research & Development Cell in collaboration with IQAC of Milli Al-Ameen College (for Girls) was held on 20th April 2026. The session by Dr. Debika Banerji on “Stories from River Landscapes: An Intersection of Memory, Ecology and Sustenance of Adi Ganga River” offered valuable insights into the relationship between rivers, ecology, history, and human sustenance. A truly enriching academic interaction for students and faculty alike.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, our institution proudly organized a meaningful celebration to honor the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in all spheres of life. The programme was organized by the Department of English, Department of Political Science, and NSS Unit 1, reflecting a collaborative effort to promote awareness, expression, and empowerment.

The event featured engaging paper presentations by students, where they shared insightful perspectives on women’s issues, rights, and contributions to society.

A special highlight of the programme was the inauguration of the Wall Magazine, showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression centered around the theme of women’s empowerment.

The celebration featured an engaging Quiz Competition on Women in Science and a creative Poster Making Competition on Science and Recent Innovations. Participants showcased impressive knowledge, creativity, and innovative thinking, making the event truly inspiring.

The Department of Science successfully organized a student seminar on “Food Through the Lens of Chemistry and Biology” where B.Sc. MDC Semester I and III students connected Chemistry, Botany and Zoology to the food we eat every day. From microbes and metabolism to food safety, preservatives, antioxidants, and adulteration, the seminar offered insightful and engaging presentations that highlighted the complexities of our modern food system.

The Urdu Department of Milli Al-Ameen College (For Girls) successfully organized a One-Day State Level Seminar on 12th February 2026 in collaboration with the West Bengal Urdu Academy on the theme “Feminism in Urdu Literature: Direction & Trajectory.
The seminar brought together eminent scholars, academicians, and students for meaningful discussions on the evolving perspectives of feminism in Urdu literary discourse. With insightful keynote addresses, engaging technical sessions, and active participation from attendees, the event became a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange and critical reflection.
