Matrix International Centre of Excellence (MICE) has been undertaking experiential initiatives that are intended to integrate art and music into the mainstream of our lives. Founded by the Matrix International Group, MICE began operations in 2014 with the establishment of a contemporary art gallery 'Galleria M', in Kolkata. Within a short span of time, MICE has created a significant impact on the
cultural ethos of the city. Three landmark exhibitions have been hosted at Galleria M- Existential Explorations, Lyrical Reflections and Papyrus, showcasing contemporary Indian art. Many events have been hosted at the Gallery including, 'Ya Devi' a symposium on the iconography of Goddess Durga and contemporary artistic interpretations, 'Om Ganeshay Namah', a retrospective on the artistic interpretations of Lord Ganesha, art appreciation workshops and lecture-demonstrations on Indian classical music. Socially significant initiatives have also been undertaken by the Gallery including art scholarships for talented but socially marginalized children, recognition and honorarium for discriminated and marginalized 'nude' models associated with art colleges etc. Matrix International centre of excellence has now made a foray into training and development in fine arts, music and the performing arts. Leading artists and performers have been empanelled as faculty members and mentors. In 2015, MICE intends to conduct workshops and training programmes that are at par with international standards of training and instruction. The creative arts have the power to transform the human mind. Our faculty members and mentors are actively collaborating with behavioural psychologists, management consultants and human resource experts to develop specialised training modules for corporate organisations, public institutions and health care organisations. These training modules will be on offer from March 2015. While these modules will be customised to meet the training and development needs of the individual organisations, they will be primarily centred on creating an experiential journey that shall enhance the participants' awareness, focus, discipline, creativity, imagination, innovation and team play. Hands on familiarisation with musical instruments, paint and canvas, theatre and role play, etc. will help integrate the overriding values and principles that are at the core of any creative and organisational endeavour. Experts on organisational behaviour shall ensure ongoing validity and relevance of these training modules. Going forward, MICE intends to collaborate with international organisations to enhance opportunities of engagement for Indian artists and performers. It also intends to delve deeper into our rich artistic and cultural heritage to rediscover techniques, approaches, skills and attitudes that can find resonance in the contemporary world. MICE invites you to be a part of this exploratory journey that can take us and our organisations into new realms of extraordinary achievements, happiness and success.
