At Delhi Public School (Joka), South Kolkata, the young learners from Play Group to Class II embraced the essence of Independence Day through a delightful Sit and Colour Activity.
With tiny hands and boundless imagination, the children brought the tricolour to life—each stroke echoing the values of freedom, unity and patriotism. The activity gently kindled in them a sense of belonging and encouraged them to cherish the spirit of our nation.

Delhi Public School (Joka), South Kolkata, successfully participated in the National Road Safety Education Programme (NRSM), an initiative of the International Road Federation – India Chapter (IRF-IC) in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Education.

A total of 842 students were enrolled in the four-week online Road Safety Education Programme, designed to promote awareness of road safety rules, responsible road behaviour, and safe commuting practices.

Additionally, 196 students participated in the National Road Safety Olympiad to assess their knowledge and understanding of road safety.

The school achieved outstanding results in the Olympiad, with 9 students securing All India ranks within the Top 30. Among them, Priyansaa Sau Class 11 secured All India Rank 5, while Vayushi Mukhopadhyay Class 12 secured All India Rank 9, bringing great pride to the school.

In recognition of its exceptional participation and performance, Delhi Public School (Joka), South Kolkata was honoured with the Gold Award for Excellence in Academic Performance.

Bathed in the soft golden hues of the early morning sun, the institution transformed into a canvas of patriotism, commemorating Independence Day with a ceremony that seamlessly blended historic reverence with cultural brilliance.

The contribution of Munshi Premchand in the field of Hindi literature is unparalleled. His entire canon of literary pieces speaks of his keen understanding of humans and the evils lurking in the society. His craftsmanship lies in portraying all of these in a lucid and ordinary manner, where it appeals to every individual of the society alike. Delhi Public School (Joka), South Kolkata commemorated the birth anniversary of this maestro with a special assembly designed in his tribute. A speech on Munshi Premchand gave us a glimpse into his life and exalted his life’s works. A skit based on his story ‘Bade Ghar ki Beti’ enthralled the young audience. It focussed on values of humility and generosity. A musical performance on ‘Hindi Humari Aan Hain’ paid tribute to the genius and his contribution to the Hindi language. The programme ended with the National Song and the National Anthem.
