Today marked the successful completion of the 4-day online workshop on Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Printing Industry, organized by the Department of Printing Technology, REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF PRINTING TECHNOLOGY. The final sessions of the workshop were enriched by the valuable contributions of our distinguished speakers. On Day 3, AVIJIT KAR, Senior Research Fellow, Department of Printing Engineering, Jadavpur University spoke on his research in predictive maintenance in print production facilities. Parmeshwar Patidar of Indas Analytics demonstrated the application of intelligent MIS for print facilities. The final day included discussions and demonstration by experts comprising Indukalpa Saikia and Mohamed Ameenurrahaman from Heidelberg India, on their Prinect workflow automation system and Das Damodaran of Farb Technologies on the scope of application of intelligent systems in various areas of print workflow. Their insightful deliberations brought together academic perspective, industrial experience, and emerging technological applications, offering participants a deeper understanding of how artificial intelligence is reshaping contemporary printing workflows and practices.

Over these two weekends, participants were exposed to important discussions on innovation, automation, analytics, and industry-oriented implementation of AI in printing. The sessions not only broadened technical understanding but also encouraged critical thinking about the future of print technology in an increasingly data-driven and intelligent production environment.

We sincerely thank all our speakers for their time, expertise, and generous support in making the concluding sessions of the workshop highly engaging and academically enriching. We also extend our appreciation to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement throughout the programme.

Registrations for the 4-DayOnline Workshop on “Applications of AI in the Printing Industry (AAIPI)”, conducted by the Department of Printing Technology, Regional Institute of Printing Technology, are now open.

Our industry stands at a very interesting intersection, where data, color, process control, and machine intelligence can come together to redefine print workflows.

This workshop is our effort to make that transition practical, accessible, and hands-on. To make it easier for professionals in the print fraternity to attend we have organized this workshop on two weekends (11th, 12th, 18th & 19th April 2026). During this journey, we’ll be working through:
1) How AI can be applied in real print production scenarios
2) Defect detection, quality control, and color management using AI
3) Predictive maintenance and workflow automation
4) Building simple, usable AI-driven solutions for print

What makes this special is the strong lineup of speakers from both academia and industry like Arpitam Chatterjee, Manu Choudhury, Parmeshwar Patidar, Das Damodaran, Indukalpa Saikia, AVIJIT KAR, and the focus on implementation, not just theory.

Whether you are, a print professional, a quality or production manager, a student or researcher, or simply curious about AI in printing, this workshop is designed to give you something you can actually use.

Early bird registration is ₹1500 (till 20th March)
Late registration is ₹2000
