The Kolkata Police Law Institute (KPLI) is a self-financed institution established in June 2016 under the aegis of the Kolkata Police Family Welfare centre.
The Institute is affiliated to the University of Calcutta and approved by the Bar Council of India

The 2-year LL.M course under the University of Calcutta was started from 16th April 2019 with the introductory lecture delivered by Dr. Amit Sen, formerly Dean and Head of the Department of Law, University of Calcutta. There are 20 seats available in the said course from the session 2018-19.

গত শুক্রবার কলকাতা পুলিশ ল ইনস্টিটিউট এর ছাত্র ছাত্রী রা এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছিল কলেজ অডিটোরিয়ামে। ওই অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে তারা তুলে ধরে বাংলা ভাষার গুরুত্ব ও ভাষা দিবসের তাৎপর্য, Unity In Diversity- ভারত এর বৈচিত্রের মধ্যে ঐক্য এর উপর এক অসাধারন নৃত্যনাট্য ও ছিল তাদের নিজস্ব ব্যান্ডের সংগীত পরিবেশনা। এই অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অনুপম রায়,অনিন্দ্য চট্টোপাধ্যায়, প্রমুখ বিশিষ্ট অতিথীরা।
