Why does an impairment loss create a Deferred Tax Asset (DTA)? 🤔

When impairment reduces the book value of an asset but isn’t immediately deductible for tax, the tax WDV stays higher than the book WDV. This can lead to higher tax depreciation in future → lower future tax → DTA.
