Hands are trembling while writing this post. We lost our beloved brother
Md Akhlaq Alam (Guddu) ,3rd yr student of Dept. of Optometry , NSHM KNOWLEDGE CAMPUS, Kolkata , last night in a road accident. We express our deepest condolence and sympathy to his family members, friends and Loved ones. May his soul rest in peace!!! You will be always with us champ.

A seminar on ‘Overview of GKB Opticals’ was led by Mr Ajay Mishra, GM of Professional Services and Technical Sales at GKB Lens Pvt.Ltd Kolkata, & Mr Pinaki Ranjan Patra, Manager at GKB Lens Pvt.Ltd Kolkata. The event was followed by convocation ceremony conducted by Bausch & Lomb for the participants of ‘MasterMind In-Campus’ program.

"Walk in the Dark", an initiative by India Vision Institute (IVI), conducted a public awareness campaign to eradicate preventable blindness. India Vision Institute led "Walk in the Dark" at the historic Victoria Memorial in Kolkata which was a resounding success with around 550 participants. The march was flagged off by Australia's High Commissioner Harinder Sidhu. Several prominent citizens, including Victoria Memorial Hall Secretary and Curator Dr Jayanta Sengupta, Essilor India COO Ramachandran P, IVI CEO Vinod Daniel, AllSport Foundation Chairman Srenik Sett, Gurbux Singh, Victor Banerjee and Shanu Nag among others, participated in the campaign. Carrying placards and slogans, the march alongside the museum was led by visually impaired students from the Blind Boys' Academy of Ramakrishna Ashram. Special thanks to Department Of Optometry, NSHM Kolkata students for helping with the turnout at the walk.
