Durga Puja is an integral part of Bengali heritage and culture. The worship of the divine Goddess will
be incomplete without the aesthetic strokes on the
enthralling clay idol of Ma Durga from Mahalaya to exchanging sweets and vows in Bijaya Dashami.
Folk culture of Bengal is incomplete without the 'Pat'
and its underlying anecdotes.
What if we begin our celebration artistically?
Centre for Knowledge Ideas and Development
Studies wishes to arrange a two day long workshop
on Pat from September 24-25.

Art and law complement each other. There have been instances how artists were deprived of their deserved recognition for lacking in required legal acumen. The seminar intends to bridge the gap between art and law and make the artists more aware about the different laws protecting their rights.
Dr Arshiya Sethi speaks on "Why artists should be aware and 'unmuted' of the intersection of arts and law?â organised by Centre of Knowledge Ideas and Development Studies.
She focussed on how art can be used as a medium to communicate the consent and dissent. The seminar expanded from blasphemy, copyright act to the immensely necessary amendments that the various laws against workplace harrassment, especially sexual harrassment needs.
She eloquently described how such laws protecting the minorities should be made accessible ton them through various media.
It was an intriguing lecture and our organisation looks forward to more association with her.
