Bond has enthralled us with numerous stories set in the hills. Many of us have spent our summer holidays in the company of grandparents, ghosts, umbrellas, cherry trees, furry friends, train journeys and mischievous boys that he has written about

As he publishes his memoir of his wartime childhood in Dehradun, we wish him good health and peace.

Through his long writing career, he has produced some of the most joyous and nostalgic works about the mountains and his personal experiences.
