The young learners of the Nursery celebrated Earth Day for the first time with much zeal and enthusiasm. It allowed our little ones to explore and learn about the Earth. Through the medium of a globe, their tactile memory of the shape of the Earth was created. With the help of a PPT, the concept that Earth is our home and doing our bit to keep it clean was imparted. Children were encouraged to speak about how they can keep the Earth, their home, a clean place. Learning by doing has the maximum impact on young learners thereby the colour of the Earth was introduced to them through a hands-on activity of making balloon impressions using blue and green paint. As the young ones pledged to become Eco-Warriors, they made a beautiful Earth with palm impressions as a combined Nursery activity in the corridor with the message ‘We love you, Mumma Earth’. Children were empowered today to become proactive climate warriors of tomorrow by sensitizing them to understand the collective responsibility we share to look after the Earth.
