OBITUARY
We deeply mourn and condole the sad demise of Dr. Sukanta Karmakar (Ph.D.in Seed Science and
Technology, Calcutta University), Additional Director of Agriculture, Govt. of West Bengal and a Life
Member of the Alumni Association, Institute of Agricultural Science, Calcutta University on 28th
November ,2025 due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 56 years.
We pray to the almighty that the departed soul may rest in peace and to
give strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss. On behalf of the association, we
greatly sympathize with the members of the bereaved family.
