The School derives its name from the name of Stephen, the first Christian Martyr of the first century missionaries after Jesus Christ. Stephen is regarded as the Founder Saint of the School and the Founders Day in the School is celebrated on 15th February of every year. Stephen's school was started under the holistic aegis of the Diocese of Barrack pore, Church of North India recognizing the Churc

h's mission to the common people for quality education at an affordable cost. Stephen's Church, DumDum, and started the School with a few students and a handful of dedicated teachers in the year 1971. From that humble beginning, this co-educational English Medium Minority Institute has grown as one of the largest and best known school in the suburb of North Kolkata. This co-education English Medium School is unquestionably a novelty in the conduct of classes from Nursery to K.G. & Std. I to XII and it strive to follow and make the students aware of latest syllabus prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

It reminded me of those days.. when morning assembly was boring...lunch breaks were colorful ... scoring marks in Anwesha Mam's paper was tough...Jana Sir's class meant a "hoi-choi" hour..completing projects... and those were school days... our ST. STEPHEN'S SCHOOL days....
