SUPPORT FOR THE MIND - Iswar Sankalpa is a non-profit organisation established in 2007 that provides holistic care and support to homeless and home-based persons with psychosocial disabilities. Upholding the principles of social justice and every human's right to live with dignity in society, Iswar Sankalpa implements a range of programs in collaboration with Stakeholders like Social Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Kolkata Police and various other bodies to provide mental healthcare services to socio-economically vulnerable populations, thereby preventing homelessness and empowering marginalised persons to reintegrate in society.
At IISWBM, Iswar Sankalpa presents to you hand-made creations made by their beneficiaries. The Livelihood projects Saksham and Crust and Core, under the Reintegration Program aim at providing a platform to these persons to learn new skills that will empower them to be self-reliant and live a life of dignity, as contributing members of society.
Crust and Core aims at providing women recovering from mental illness (psychosocial disabilities) a platform to learn a skill and become self-reliant. With rehabilitation at it's core we have embarked on a journey to support the women at Crust and Core to become economically independent and interact with members of society with a new role and identity.
We at Earth Day 2019 are Inspired by the initiatives and believe that Iswar Sankalpa will uphold the spirit.

We deliver programmes geared towards preventive and intervention services, training and capacity building and research and development in order to reduce the occurrence of child sexual abuse heal its impact and create safe and supportive environments for children and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. We also work in the area of women empowerment, women health and hygiene, livelihood and local economy.
We at Earth Day 2019 are proud to be the Screening Partners for "A Plastic Ocean" by Anahat.
A Plastic Ocean - Film Screening documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in
seafood’s fatty tissues, and are eventually consumed by us. If it was happening in one gyre, they suspected it was happening in all of them. But the filmmakers needed experts to prove it. Scientists were brought in at each stage to analyze the findings from one part of the story to add their data
to the overall report on the five gyres. In the center of the Pacific Ocean gyre our researchers found more plastic than plankton.
