It is with sorrow that we announce the passing away of Rev. Dr. V.M. Gnanaraj, former principal of the college and faculty member for almost 20 years. Dr. Gnanaraj was also a student at Bishop's College and continues to be fondly remembered as a wonderful teacher in the department of ministry. Many many students who passed out of Bishop's College would remember the hospitality that his family offered.
The funeral will be held on Monday the 13th of June in Salem. Please uphold his wife, two sons and grandchildren as they go through this difficult time.

Message from the Principal ~

It is with sorrow that I inform you that the Revd. Dr. Somen Das, former Principal of Bishop’s College (1989-1999) and Professor of Theology and Ethics at United Theological College, Bengaluru (1970-1988) passed away in Mumbai in the early hours of today (5th May) where he was living with his son and family. He was 75. He is survived by his wife, June and married son, Sanjoy. He was a prolific author, brilliant teacher and one of the tallest theologians that the CNI has produced. Please inform others who may have known him.
