This year Lead Dev Cell brings to you “Marketing ke Fundae”, a session by Prof. Chandradeep (CD) Mitra to help you with your Marketing Preparation.

Brief: Prof. Mitra is an alum of IIM Calcutta (1988 batch). Currently, he is the CEO of PipalMajik & Anvetion Consulting, Founder Director of Neoleap Business Venture, Advisor & Mentor to Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, IIM Calcutta. He used to be President of Lintas & President of Mudra MAX before starting out on his own. He’s a Visiting Faculty at IIM Calcutta, XLRI, SPJIMR & MICA. He has tremendous amount of knowledge in the field of Marketing, Advertising, Integrated and Digital Marketing, Brand Consultancy & Media Agencies.

Who should attend: All PGP1s having marketing as one of their preferences are strongly recommended to attend this workshop.

What can you expect: In this session you will get a basic orientation of Marketing, exposure to some key concepts & frameworks of Marketing, & application of various concepts in answering Interview Questions. And a surprise quotient from the Professor!

LeadDev Cell brings to you live project opportunity by one of the leading startups in agricultural sector, AGROWAVE (Founded by IIT Delhi Alumnus).We invite innovative minds to give ground breaking solutions for connecting Agrowave with farmers from remote locations across India.

Company Brief: Agrowave is transforming agriculture supply chain of fruits & vegetables through research, analytics and technology and aims to change farmers' life by providing 20-25% more price to farmers for their produce. AgroWave is a mobile e-vendor of fruits & vegetables that serves small & medium businesses directly from farmers. Currently they have 1000+ farmers , 300+ businesses and 100+ traders on their platform.

Objective: To connect with fruits & vegetables farmers from remote location across India

Current challenges:Agrowave face challenges even after connecting with farmers. You have to come up with the innovative and practically implementable ideas to connect with farmers. These challenges can help you in your solution.
- It's difficult to identify wether it's farmer or aggregator when we receive a request on our mobile app.
- Farmers don't trust easily hence they ask 100% advance payment
- It's difficult to map the quality with the price

Agorwave's process of buying from farmers :
They have a mobile app for farmers "Farmer AgroWave" . They get requests on this mobile app from farmers to sell their produce.
1. Farmers send request on mobile app
2. We review request and finalise price
3. Send transport as per requirement
4. Quality check
4. Payment after loading (50%)
5. Selling to the final client
6. Remaining payment in 3-7 days

Solution acceptance criteria : Solutions should cover Innovation aspect, Viability aspect, Technology & Automation aspect and Scalability & Sustainability aspect.
1.It should be practically implementable
2.Human capital investment should be less
3.It should be MECE ("Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive")
These common solutions are not acceptable :
- Connecting farmers through advertisement of mobile app in remote locations
- Connecting farmers with the help of local aggregator or local entrepreneurs

Submission Guidelines:

Team Size: 1-4
Deadline: 30th September 2018

Teams are required to send their solutions in word doc format (max. 4 pager) to [email protected] with the subject LiveProject_Agrowave_TeamName

Incentives
1.Top 2 teams will get INR 3000/- each

Leadership Development Cell and INCA, IIM Calcutta is proud to present one of the most interactive session of the year by Mr. Manu Vora, Chairman and President of Business Excellence, Inc.

Mr. Vora has over 43 years of leadership experience in guiding Fortune 500 companies with the US Baldrige Performance Excellence framework. In 2016 he was appointed a Fulbright Specialist by the US Department of State and completed his Fulbright Project at IIT (BHU) in March 2018.
Recently Mr. Vora received 'NRI of the Year Award 2018' in Philanthropy from Times Now and ICICI Bank.

The session by Mr. Vora will be focussed on:

We, The Leadership Development Cell of IIM Calcutta were delighted to organise an all exclusive event for the freshers of Batch of 2020. CONFLICTUS 6.0 is the most-awaited and the biggest negotiation event of the year on campus.
