আপনার বাচ্চা দৌড়াতে গিয়ে পড়ে গেল এবং কান্না শুরু করল। আপনি দৌড়ে গিয়ে তাকে তুলে বললেন - "আরে কিচ্ছু হয়নি! কিচ্ছু হয়নি! তুমি তো স্ট্রং বয়!"

আমরা ভাবি, আমরা তাকে সাহস দিচ্ছি বা সান্ত্বনা দিচ্ছি। কিন্তু সাইকোলজির ভাষায়, আপনি তাকে "Gaslighting" করছেন।

গ্যাসলাইটিং কী এবং কেন এটি ক্ষতিকর? গ্যাসলাইটিং হলো কাউকে তার নিজের বাস্তবতা বা অনুভূতির ওপর সন্দেহ তৈরি করানো।

এখানে বাচ্চার শরীর (নার্ভাস সিস্টেম) তাকে সিগন্যাল দিচ্ছে - "আমার ব্যথা লাগছে, আমি ভয় পেয়েছি।" 😫 অথচ তার সবচেয়ে আস্থার জায়গা (বাবা/মা) তাকে বলছে - "কিচ্ছু হয়নি।" 🙅‍♂️

এই দুই রকম তথ্যের কারণে বাচ্চার মস্তিষ্কে 'Cognitive Dissonance' বা বিভ্রান্তি তৈরি হয়। সে ভাবে - "আমার শরীর বলছে ব্যথা, কিন্তু মা বলছে ব্যথা নেই। তাহলে কি আমার অনুভূতি ভুল?"

এর দীর্ঘমেয়াদী প্রভাব: যেসব বাচ্চার সাথে এটা নিয়মিত করা হয়, তারা ভবিষ্যতে:
১. নিজের অনুভূতির ওপর বিশ্বাস হারিয়ে ফেলে (Self-doubt)।
২. নিজের শরীর খারাপ লাগলে বা কেউ মানসিকভাবে কষ্ট দিলেও তারা বুঝতে পারে না (কারণ তারা ছোটবেলা থেকে শিখেছে তাদের অনুভূতি 'সত্য' নয়)।

স্মার্ট প্যারেন্ট হিসেবে আপনি কী করবেন? মিথ্যা সান্ত্বনা দেবেন না। তার অনুভূতিকে Validate করুন। বলুন: ✅ "উফ! পড়ে গিয়ে নিশ্চয়ই খুব ব্যথা পেয়েছো? আমি দেখতে পাচ্ছি তোমার হাঁটু ছিলে গেছে। এসো দেখি বরফ দিলে আরাম লাগে কি না।"

যখন আপনি সত্যটা স্বীকার করেন, বাচ্চা নিরাপদ বোধ করে এবং কান্না থামিয়ে সমাধানের পথে হাঁটে।

Kiddification-এর ইনসাইট: সাহস মানে ব্যথা অস্বীকার করা নয়। সাহস মানে ব্যথা নিয়েও উঠে দাঁড়ানো। বাচ্চাকে রোবট বানাবেন না, তাকে মানুষ হতে দিন। ব্যথা পেলে তাকে কাঁদতে দিন।
