Narula Institute of Technology, a leading autonomous Engineering Institute organised the 2nd Degree Award Distribution Ceremony on the 24th November 2023 for the class of 2020, 2021 and 2022 batches at NiT Campus, Agarpara.

The Degree Award Ceremony started with a majestic and grand academic procession where the dignitaries marched with the beats of NiT anthem in the background.

The event was graced by Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Tapas Chakraborty of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal as the Chief Guest.He presided over the Degree Award Ceremony.The event had the luminary presence of eminent dignitaries like Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Ghosh, Director, IIIT Bhubaneswar, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director-JIS Group, Sardar Haranjit Singh, Joint Managing Director- JIS Group, Prof (Dr). Soumen Banerjee, Principal, Dr. Nidhi Singh, Registrar, Prof.(Dr) Sourav Saha, Dean- R&D and Prof (Dr) B.K.Medya, COE from Narula Institute of Technology.
At the Degree Award Ceremony, 2344 students of B. Tech, M.Tech, and MCA were awarded their degree certificates. Among them 795 students from the batch of 2022, 795 students from the batch of 2021 and 754 students from the batch of 2020 were felicitated. The toppers of each stream were conferred with Medals.
The ceremony witnessed the illuminating participation of the proud Graduates.

The Festival of Light celebration in the college campus was a vibrant and joyous event.Like every year this time also the celebration was not confined within the college gates and Narulites shared the joy of Diwali with the community.The celebration started by distributing gifts to the economically challenged children and seniors in the Old Age home.Later in day the entire campus was adorned with colorful lights, creating a festive atmosphere. The highlight was the Diya making contest organized by the Art n Designing club of the institute.At the break of dusk the lighting of diyas and lanterns by the students and staff members symbolized the triumph of light over darkness. Overall, it was a memorable celebration that brought the college community closer through cultural exchange and festive spirit.

Old Age Home Visit by NSS Unit - Narula Institute of Technology

On November 10, 2023, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Narula Institute of Technology orchestrated a significant visit to an old age home. The objective was to extend companionship, emotional support, and engage in activities to enhance the well-being of the elderly residents.
The NSS team commenced the day with a warm welcome and introductions, fostering a friendly atmosphere. Interactive sessions, including storytelling, games, were organized to create a sense of joy and belonging among the residents. Students actively engaged with the elderly, sharing experiences and listening to their stories. This exchange not only provided emotional support but also contributed to breaking the monotony of their daily routines. The residents expressed gratitude for the companionship and genuine interest shown by the NSS team. Rounding up the season of festivities the staff members of Narula Institute of Technology organized "Bhargavi",the Bijoya Sammelani on 9 November.The event commenced with a musical piece and thereafter a cascade of music,dance , recitation, dance drama followed. The staff members presented a fashion show on "Shakti Rupena Sansthita" where the diversified job roles of a lady in everyday life is represented.The theme showcased that men and women are designed to complement each other.In the end the comedy drama made everyone laugh aloud and the teachers left the campus on a cheerful note.

Narula Institute of Technology recently hosted a transformative workshop aimed at enhancing women's mental well-being. Distinguished medical professionals graced the event as speakers, imparting invaluable wisdom. Dr. Biswajit Ray, the superintendent of Lumbini Park Mental Hospital, took center stage, emphasizing the critical importance of mental health for women. He delved into common challenges and offered pragmatic solutions, shedding light on the problems caused by stress and anxiety. Following Dr. Ray's enlightening discourse, Dr. Amitava Das, a psychiatrist at Lumbini Park Mental Hospital, provided a comprehensive overview of mental health, with a particular focus on the intricacies of panic attacks.His expertise illuminated the audience, equipping them with vital knowledge to navigate these complex issues. The final speaker, Dr. Shampa Sarkar, also a psychiatrist at Lumbini Park Mental Hospital, addressed the unique challenges faced by women during and after pregnancy. Throughout the workshop, the speakers introduced a range of activities designed to nurture mental well-being. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment. The workshop proved to be an invaluable resource, offering participants a deeper understanding of the nuances of women's mental health and equipping them with practical strategies to cultivate and maintain their well-being.

Narula Institute of Technology organized a one-day-long seminar on "Promoting Industrial Academic Collaboration" on November 8, 2023, at the Sir J. C. Bose auditorium of NiT. This event was conducted in pursuit of an initiative by the Government of West Bengal on the idea of “Hub of Learning” through a cluster approach involving schools and higher education institutions. The core objective of this model is to ensure symbiotic growth through collaboration among educational institutions across the state with optimal utilization of institutional resources. Under this model, Narula Institute of Technology has been selected as one of the central hub technical colleges in the North 24 parganas entrusted with the responsibility of establishing a facilitative collaboration platform for connecting three nearby spoke colleges, namely Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex, Techno International Newtown, and Techno Main Salt Lake.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished experts, all of whom delivered insightful speeches primarily on the need for synergies between industry and academia in view of the demand for generating an effective workforce capable of addressing the challenges of sustainable socio-economic growth. Dr. Neeraj Saxena, Pro Chancellor, JISU, as our first guest speaker advocated for holistic growth by means of a triple helix model of innovation involving academia, industry, and government working together for ensuring the development of a conducive platform to foster an innovation-centric mindset both in academia and industry. Dr. Vishal Verma, HR Head, Alumnus Software, as an invited expert from the industry highlighted the expectations of the industry from the academia in terms of requirement of generating an effective workforce for the industry. Mr. Avik Chakraborty, Senior Executive Officer (Campus Recruitment & Relations) of Cognizant, during his key-note speech emphasized the need for prompt engineering skills leveraging the power of ever-evolving AI tools. The last speaker of the seminar was Dr. Siddhartha Bhattacharya, DGM, Corporate Relations, GIET University, Orissa, (former T & P Officer of Jadavpur University) who stressed the need for developing a cognitive mindset among students equipped with strong foundational knowledge of core subjects.

The entire session was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Soumen Banerjee (Principal, NiT), Dr. Nidhi Singh (Registrar, NiT), Dr. Sourav Saha (Dean R & D, NiT), and Dr. Shambhunath Saha (Dean Student Affairs, NiT), with cooperation from Shri Somnath Chakraborty (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Business Administration) as an anchor. The event witnessed the spirited presence of more than hundred participants as it served as a valuable forum for knowledge dissemination, reaffirming the collective commitment towards promoting industrial-academic collaboration.

Narula Institute of Technology celebrates the onset of 'Sharodiya' with cultural brilliance , observing a two day long festivity 'Agomoni 2023'.

Special mention to the Art and Design club of the college, where the students' remarkable creativity brought Maa Durga right into our Campus amidst 'Kashphool' (Catkin grass) and 'Alpona'.
Day two of the Agomoni Utsav , witnessed the gaiety of everyone, dressed in traditional attire. The day started with photo sessions near the Sharodiya set up , in front of Ma Durga. In the evening, faculty and staff swayed to the tunes of Dhak , quintessential flavour of Durga Puja, blowing the conch and Dhunuchi naach ( dance with censer burning incense) .
The entire campus reverbrated with the festive tunes as everyone geared up for the Pujo Holidays.

The Computer Science and Engineering department of Narula Institute of Technology has organised industrial visits to Webskitters Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to provide the B.TECH CSE – CST 3rd year students with practical insights into the activities of a real-world industrial setup on 11th October, 2023.

The industrial visit to Webskitters Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was an enriching experience for the CSE – CST students. It provided them with a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, and they left with a deeper appreciation for the field of computer science and engineering. This visit has not only broadened their horizons but has also inspired them to excel in their academic and future career endeavors. The visit also emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in the ever-evolving field of CSE.

The industrial visit proved to be a beneficial experience that helped students’ better bridge the gap between academic theory and actual industry practices.

The Narula Institute of Technology (NiT) under the aegis of JIS Group Educational initiatives witnessed an enlightening and culturally enriching event, the NiT-LiT Fest 2023. This Inter-Institute literary festival aimed to foster communication skills, nurture literary talent, and contribute to the personality development of young learners. The event was held on October 12, 2023, and was a resounding success with participation from over 20 schools and 15 colleges across the state, resulting in a footfall of 550+ attendees. The fest marked the launch of "NiT Insights," a monthly coffee table book by Narula Institute of Technology. The book was inaugurated by Dr. Nishi Pulugurtha, a distinguished Poet and Author. Her presence added immense value to the event, inspiring young writers and poets. A series of literary and public speaking competitions, including public speaking contests, poetry readings, and essay writing competitions, were organized. These events encouraged participants to express their creativity, articulate their thoughts, and compete at a high level. The NiT-LiT Fest 2023 received widespread appreciation from participants, attendees, and guests. The event successfully fulfilled its objectives of nurturing literary and communication skills. The NiT-LiT Fest 2023 was a day filled with creativity, inspiration, and camaraderie. On this occasion Mr Simarpreet Singh, Director JIS Group has mentioned that “This literary festival has not only made a positive impact on the young participants but has also left a lasting impression on the literary and cultural landscape of the state. It is a testament to the enduring power of literature and communication in shaping young minds. NiT provided a valuable platform for young learners to enhance their communication skills, express their literary talents, and shape their personalities. The event's success can be attributed to the dedication of the Literary and Public Speaking Club of Narula Institute of Technology, the active participation of numerous schools and colleges, and the inspiring presence of Dr. Nishi Pulugurtha. We look forward to the continued success of NiT-LiT Fest in the coming years.”
