🎭🐝 MOUCHAК — A NIGHT TO REMEMBER! 🐝🎭

What happens when you mix Uttam Kumar, laughter, nostalgia and a little bit of madness? An unforgettable evening!

On 8 August 2026, ASPEXS Cultural Wing brought Mouchak to the stage as our heartfelt tribute to Mahanayak Uttam Kumar on his birth centenary.

Directed by Satyabati Nadkar, a the production blended Samaresh Basu’s timeless story and Asit Ghosh’s theatrical adaptation with much-loved scenes and dialogues from the iconic film.

And the response? Absolutely overwhelming! ❤️
The auditorium was packed beyond capacity, with every seat filled and audiences overflowing into the hall!

It was not an attempt to recreate the legends—just our humble way of saying “Thank you, Mahanayak.”

A special tribute was also paid to Shri Shekhar Chattopadhyay, the film’s Mr. Chowdhury and a beloved South Point teacher.

Laughter. Nostalgia. Memories. Magic. 🎭❤️

Pointer Connect, a joint initiative of South Point High School and the South Point Ex-Students’ Association (ASPEXS), brings together distinguished alumni and current Pointers to inspire informed career choices through shared experiences.

On 23 July 2026, the School welcomed Prof. Amartya Kumar Dutta, Director and Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and a proud Pointer from the Higher Secondary batch of 1983.

An acclaimed mathematician, prolific researcher in Commutative Algebra and Affine Algebraic Geometry, and the first recipient of the Satish C. Bhatnagar Award in History of Mathematics, Prof. Dutta reflected on the inspiring teachers of South Point who shaped his academic journey. He spoke about how Sri Aurobindo’s observations on India’s rich mathematical heritage sparked his interest in the History of Mathematics, and highlighted the growing significance of Mathematics in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

The engaging session concluded with an interactive Q&A, leaving students inspired by his insights and remarkable journey.
