Crack WBCS with Shosanko

We all know, the selection procedure of WBCS has three phases….

1)Preliminary
2)Main Exam
3)Personality test.

The first phase “Preliminary” examination is meant to serve as a first screening test to select candidates for main exam.

The paper will be of an objective type consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. The paper will carry 200 marks with Two and a half (2½) hours duration.

The subjects are,

1)English Language
2)General Science
3)Current events of National & International Importance
4) History of India
5)Geography of India with special reference to West Bengal
6)Indian Polity and Economy
7)Indian National Movement
8)General Mental Ability.

Each topic is assigned 25 marks. And the probable exam date of Preliminary Exam is December 15, 2024.

The West Bengal Public Service Commission released the WBCS 2024 prelims result (2023 Session) on July 12, 2024. This session they have selected 4,960 candidates for the WBCS main exam. The Commission will conduct the WBCS main exam 2024 from August 16 to 20.

𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗕𝗖𝗦….

The main exam of WBCS consist of six compulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers (Only for candidates applying for group A and/or B) to be chosen by the candidates from the list of optional subjects. Each paper, it can be Compulsory or Optional, assigned 200 marks and time duration is 3 hours.

The Compulsory subjects are

3)𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨 – 𝙋𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙄
4)𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨-𝙋𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙄𝙄

So it’s a huge challenge, right?? To overcome it, you just need to be a good planner. First of all you should have a clear idea about each compulsory subject. It’s scope and significance. It will help you to strengthen your knowledge as well as a clear concept of that particular subject. This will help you to improve your writing. Your answer should be concise and well-structured.

To make it happen you need at least two mock tests in each week. Mock tests will help you to find your flaws too and give you a clear idea about your time management strategy. Simultaneously you have to enhance your analytical and problem solving skills and also be updated with current affairs.

Each year after Preliminary exam we heard a common phrase that we didn’t able to give our best. Question aren’t tough but I can’t able to complete. And so on…

This is a real problem for the candidates who are sitting in WBCS first time. The issue is nothing but their nervousness, anxiety, lack of mind set.

We always talk about reading schedules, mock tests, time management. But apart from them another major factor is Mind Management.

Sometimes before exam students gets panicked by overthinking about their weakness or they think if questions comes from that part which they aren’t comfortable, or they hadn’t had prepared well. Secondly before each big finals,(cricket, football whatever it may be) you heard in interviews that players always take some extra nap to make themselves relax. When your body and mind will be relaxed, you will have full control on your mind. And it will help you to choose the question strategically and to solve them within due time.

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সিভিল সার্ভিস (WBCS) এক্সিকিউটিভ পরীক্ষার প্যাটার্নে উল্লেখযোগ্য পরিবর্তন আনা হয়েছে।

পাবলিক সার্ভিস কমিশন (PSC) প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে যে WBCS সিলেবাস এবং প্রশ্নপত্রগুলিকে UPSC সিভিল সার্ভিস পরীক্ষার ধাঁচে সাজানো হবে।

এই প্রস্তাবটি রাজ্য মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকে অনুমোদিত হয়েছে। এই সিদ্ধান্তটি UPSC-এর সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে WBCS পরীক্ষাকে আরও প্রতিযোগিতামূলক এবং গুনোমানসম্পন্ন করতে নেওয়া হয়েছে।

এই পরিবর্তনের ফলে প্রার্থীদের UPSC-এর মতো উচ্চমানের প্রস্তুতি নিতে হবে। প্রার্থীদের জন্য এটি একটি বড়ো সুযোগ, কারণ UPSC এবং WBCS পরীক্ষার মধ্যে সামঞ্জস্য থাকা মানে একই প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে উভয় পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করা সম্ভব হবে।
