From Academic Learning to Industry Readiness.

At the Institute of Personality and Image Management - IPIM (IPIM), we believe that true employability is not defined by academic knowledge alone. It is shaped by professional confidence, communication, industry awareness, critical thinking, experiential learning and the ability to present oneself effectively.

Our perspective at IPIM has always been that employability training should go beyond PPT-driven presentations and conventional classroom learning. Students need opportunities to interact, ask questions, understand real-world situations and hear directly from professionals who know what the industry expects.

As part of our ongoing Employability Enhancement Programme at the IISWBM- New Age Degrees, IPIM conducted engaging sessions on 11th September 2026, with students from diverse MBA programmes:

🔹 Interview Preparedness – developing the confidence, clarity, communication, professional presence and ability to articulate one's thoughts effectively during recruitment conversations.

From Resume Building to Industry Readiness — The Journey Continues at IISWBM- New Age Degrees

A strong resume may open the door, but industry readiness determines how confidently a student walks through it.

As part of the *Employee Enhancement Program at IISWBM*, Institute of Personality and Image Management - IPIM is working with students to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace expectations.

📍 Day 9 | Company Research*

The session focused on an essential aspect of career preparation: understanding the organisation before applying or appearing for an interview.

Students explored:
* Understanding the organisation, industry and business model
* Researching roles, responsibilities and workplace expectations
* Identifying the skills organisations look for
* Connecting their own qualifications and experiences with industry requirements
* Using company research to prepare more effectively for interviews and professional conversations

The session was conducted by our esteemed image coaches and industry expert Jaideep Banerjee and Debarati Chatterjee Bhattacharya.

The journey so far has covered Resume Building, LinkedIn Profile Development, Professional Communication, Company Research and Industry Readiness*—with a strong emphasis on practical application and individual development.

🎓 Resume Building Session with IIT Kharagpur| Turning a Resume into a Career Tool

It was a pleasure to conduct an online Resume Building Session for the B.Tech and M.Tech students of IIT Kharagpur.

A resume is not just a document listing your qualifications—it is your first professional introduction to a potential employer. 📄💼 And one of the most important things students need to understand is that a good resume cannot always be a “one-size-fits-all” document.

During the session, we went into the nitty-gritty of resume building—what should be included, what should be highlighted, and, most importantly, what needs to be tweaked depending on the company, role, and opportunity a student is applying for. 🎯

What made the session particularly rewarding was the response from the students. Despite it being an online session, students stayed engaged from the beginning right through to the end. 🙌

We were flooded with questions towards the end, which was a wonderful indication that the discussion was relevant and that we were able to add real value to the students. 💡

We also conducted a live review of one of the students’ resumes, taking everyone through the thought process behind improving an individual resume. 🔍📄

At IPIM, we strongly believe that students should receive individual guidance on their resumes before they start appearing for placements, rather than simply relying on a standard template. 🚀

We are delighted to share the successful commencement of the Employability Enhancement Programme conducted by the Institute of Personality and Image Management - IPIM at IISWBM- New Age Degrees

The first two days of the programme were filled with interactive learning, meaningful discussions, practical activities, and enthusiastic participation from the students.

The Institute of Personality and Image Management (IPIM), Kolkata, continues its commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations through impactful Industry Readiness Programmes.

As part of this initiative, IPIM was part of Synergia Phase III at IIT Guwahati, designed to equip students with the practical skills, professional awareness, and confidence required to successfully navigate today’s competitive corporate environment.

A huge thank you to the entire team CCD at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, especially Dr. JOHN JOSE and Dr. Abraham Cyril Issac, for their constant guidance, support, and encouragement.

Bengalis mean business! I’m so proud to be a member of the Bengal Business Council, the first platform of its kind to bring us all together. Learning about the incredible journeys and resilience of fellow entrepreneurs has been eye-opening. More than just a forum, it felt like joining a supportive family.
